I'm Karen, I've been married to Jon for 19 years and we have two daughter's who are 17 and 13. Our 13 year old daughter, Sarah, has an unusual love of animals. She asked us to start our pet care business when she was 12. She loves them all, big and small.
A few years ago, we fostered puppies for about a month, and it was an excellent experience. But we care for all ages as long as they get along with other dogs.
We have a half acre yard, and the back yard is completely fenced. It's a dog's dream with lots of squirrels and rabbits to chase. Dogs get a little of the farm experience with us.
In March of 2017 we brought home two goats. Lucy is a young mama who's baby died during childbirth. Tutti was just 5 weeks old when we brought her home, and her mama had refused to nurse her. They met in our car on the way home, and Lucy adopted Tutti right away. Later that first day, Lucy even allowed Tutti to nurse, she is an amazing doe! We have the goats gated off in their own area of our yard, but to our surprise, they love all of the dogs. We even have a daycare puppy who is growing up with our baby goat. The two of them cry when we separate them, it is incredibly sweet.
Because of our backyard chickens, we never find ticks on our dogs.(The chickens are separately fenced, so dogs can see them but they cannot get at them).
We are a home school family, so we are home most of the time. School often can be done with a dog in a lap or at our feet. We have a huge Lovesac bean bag in our school room, which all dogs have decided makes the best dog bed ever! It's big enough for the dogs and a child doing school!
We would love to keep your dog happy and safe while you are away!
If you are looking to have us come and stay at your home, my husband Jon does most of those stays. Jon helps us walk the dogs in our home also. There is no size restriction on dogs that we accept when we go to your home. (I just can't walk large dogs that pull me or I hurt my back, but Jon can handle them all).
