About Lindsay

11 Years Experience Caring For Dogs
Hello! We are Lindsay (human) & Ernie (dog).

We are committed to providing fun, safe, & loving care to your dog(s) only.

I work from home, allowing me to spend lots of time with your dog.
I host dogs from one family at a time, so you don't have to worry about
compatibility with other dogs.
I focus on giving affection, exercise, and calm-assertive leadership.

I offer:
a large, fully fenced backyard
dog-friendly floors and furniture
daily walks, runs, or dog park adventures
a smoke-free environment
flexible drop-off and pick-up times

*The calendar to the right displays my availability.
*When sending a reservation request please indicate your preferred pick-up and drop-off times so that I can best accommodate you. If you are unable to be specific (i.e. 9 a.m.) then please indicate if you would like a "morning" or "evening" pick-up / drop-off time.

Conveniently located:
2 miles from 3 different dog parks
4 miles from Portland International Airport

I began boarding dogs as a way to learn about different breeds at a time when I was considering adopting a second dog. Years later, my dog Ernie and I are still having a blast with our revolving crew of dog buddies. I love caring for dogs because they teach me to be in the moment. I am reminded to take joy in the simple things, like eating, sleeping, and playing. Dogs are inspiring!

I am always excited about hosting dogs that are adventurous. Ernie and I like to get out and explore with our guests. Dog parks, swims in the river, and day hikes are our favorite activities.
As a middle-aged dog, Ernie is slowing down a bit and has also been enjoying dogs that like to snooze or tour the neighborhood at a snail's pace, so senior dogs are a hit here as well.

A bonus is my willingness to provide consistency for your dog(s) - I am happy to follow your usual schedule and will take care to support your approach to training.
*I require a pet meet to gauge dog compatibility.

About this sitter:
I have lived in Portland for over 10 years. During this time I have worked as a wildlife sanctuary intern, waitress, nanny, caregiver with individuals with developmental disabilities, preschool teacher, and artist. I currently work part-time from home as a data collector in the medical/statistics field. In my free time I like to explore the wonderful natural areas that surround Portland. I also enjoy organic gardening, long distance running, cooking, and canoeing.

About My Dog:
Ernie is a happy, healthy Schnauzer / Lab mix. I adopted him as a puppy from the Oregon Humane Society. He is a big boy, but a gentle soul, and has always taken a passive roll with other dogs.
With high-energy dogs Ernie is playful.
With shy dogs Ernie is sweet and curious but never hyper or pushy.
Even small dogs are at-ease with him because he is not rough or intimidating.
To sum it up, Ernie is the perfect gentleman!

My dog needed a quiet, safe and loving home away from our crazy holidays. She received all of that and came home happy. Lindsay is a good listener and met all of Dottie's needs. DD

My dog has stayed with Lindsay before, who reported that Gwen ate and slept right on schedule so I think she feels comfortable and secure there. So comfortable, in fact, that when we go for walks Gwen will try to pull me up Lindsay's driveway (we live in the same neighborhood.)

Highest recommendation! Lindsay is a wonderful and very competent dog sitter.
We adore Lindsey, what more needs to be said.
Lindsay is essentially everything one could want in a dogsitter. She is compassionate, a great communicator, clearly loves and understands dogs--so much so, I would call her a dog whisperer. She and her adorable dog Ernie make a great team, and they made my Bubba feel like he has another home there. Lindsay's got a great big yard, good for lots of playing and running. She also takes the dogs to parks, and gets them out for plenty of good exercise. She accepts only one visiting dog at a time, to allow her to give plenty of time to that dog and Ernie. She also works from home, so the dogs are rarely left alone. We're repeat customers, and whenever we need dogsitting, I'm hoping Lindsay is available.

Lindsey is great, very attentive to your dog needs. Our dog got plenty of excerise, enjoyed playing with Ernie,,who is so sweet. Zoey loved it and sents her love to her new buddy.
Lindsay kept Penelope active and entertained while we were out of town, and kept in touch with frequent updates.
Lindsay and Ernie were both awesome with Porter (and me)! Lindsay is insightful about dog behaviors, and I was comfortable leaving Porter with her knowing she would ensure that he was safe and happy. Looking forward to future visits!
My dog Abbey had a wonderful time with Lindsay and Ernie. I have a very high energy dog, and Lindsay accommodated her needs amazingly. Abbey loved her doggy vacation so much she didn't want to leave, and actually tried to go back in the house with Ernie instead of come home with me!

Thank you so much Lindsay and Ernie for making Abbey's visit so wonderful and for providing me with texts and photos to calm MY separation anxiety!

I don't think I could honestly I can say enough good things about Lindsay, she is one of the most patient and caring individuals I've met in a long time. Even though our Annie is high anxiety, Lindsay welcomed her with open arms. To our great surprise, Annie was happy and calm when we got her home after vacation. Not once did we worry about our girl while we were away. Lindsay is completely trustworthy, honest and clearly dedicated. I don't think it would be possible to find a better caregiver. Thank you SOOOO much Lindsay!!!!!
