Hello Rovers! We are a very dog friendly couple with one dog of our own (a fun 80lb shepherd mix gal named Charlie), that would love to watch your dog while you're away! I am a lifelong dog lover & owner, currently working freelance in events & animal welfare. I grew up with big dogs, worked in a vet clinic through high school and continued volunteering with dogs for the last 12+ years at various rescues from Chicago to LA, including the one we rescued Charlie from. I've fostered many pups of all shapes and sizes (though I'm a real pittie & big dog lover!) and am passionate about giving dogs the wonderful, loved lives they deserve. We live a block from Runyon Canyon for walks & hikes, and our building is very dog friendly. My schedule is flexible, with both my husband & I often working from home or occasionally I'm at a dog-friendly office, so there would be very minimal alone time. Our condo is attached to a courtyard we share with 4 other dog-loving units, and we're steps from a large grassy yard along the street - you can guarantee your dog will get the attention and love it deserves at our home! I'm open to sitting at your home in certain circumstances as well. We look forward to hearing from you (Charlie says "ruff ruff!") and can answer any questions you have. Thanks! Why I love dog sitting I've worked in animal rescue since my first job at a vet's office in high school - over 12+ years of volunteering with dogs, socialization, adoptions, and have fostered dogs in the last few years. I currently work in events with an animal welfare organization. Dogs are my heart! Meet my pets Charlie - 8 years old, female Shepherd Mix, loves to play w other medium & larger dogs. About my yard We have a very large courtyard off our condo, shared w four other condos that are also dog friendly (and that love our dog & are used to her lounging out there.) They can spend supervised time out there w me nearby during the day, and the large grassy residential street is directly off that courtyard. Very close for walks - not to mention Runyon Canyon just one block up!

Jana was friendly and flexible right from the start and got kitty and pup approval quickly. During our stay she sent pictures and we returned to calm and happy furkids. Was so nice to be out for the evening and not have to worry about the furkids or the person staying with them. Highly recommended.

Just wanted to praise this lady. She took care of my puppy last minute and worked around my schedule. She kept me up to date at all times with activities along with pictures. My pup had a really great time with her and her dog Charlie. On top of that she even gave him a toy when she didn't have too and it showed me how real cool she is as a sitter. I highly recommend her and will use her again.
Simply incredible. My dog was loved and was more than taken cared for the entire week. Jana really took care of my pup like it was her own and he definitely enjoyed his stay. I'd recommend her to anyone and I'd use her again!

I truly love all dogs - for sitting at my own home, it's better if they are medium size + so Charlie can play with them too! She's a big dog but a great girl & sweet. For sitting in your own home I'm open to any size/breed, but I will say sweet big dog mixes are my personal favorite - I grew up with labs, fostered pits, and my Charlie dog now is (we think!) a shepherd & Ridgeback mix.
A typical day
Here's where we'll take our walks See "backyard" question above - we live in a great residential area that is full of dogs and big grassy streets just below Runyon Canyon, which is where we walk Charlie. We can also head up to Runyon for some exercise. Your dog's sleeping arrangement We have a two large dog beds in the house, one in living room & one in bedroom. We are dog lovers so they are welcome to sleep in bedroom with us, or even on the couch as long as they aren't destructive :) Time I'll spend with your dog As much as possible of course - I work from home on my other work currently, so expect minimal time away from your dog when I'm sitting. My car is also very "doggified" from my dog, so happy to take them on car rides when I need to leave for an errand etc - if they love the car as much as my pup! Time I'll spend with your dog I have a very flexible schedule so aside from general errands outside of the house and the occasional couple hour outing, I work on my own projects from the comfort of my laptop/cell & will spend most if not all of the day with your pets, giving them lots of attention! Extra house-sitting services Of course - any basic tasks needed at the house while I'm there, I'd be happy to do (mail, plants, turn off / leave on lights, etc.)
