We are a family of 5! Mom and dad, two girls ages 7 and 10 and our lively Maltipoo, Fozzy. As a family, we have owned a dog since our children were first born. Our first dog was a pitbull/rhodesian ridgeback/rotty mix who died of old age. He was a rescue dog that was to be put down due to his lack of social skills and aggressive nature. Within 2 months time, we had taught him how to shake hands, turn the switch lights off and close doors in the house. He quickly adjusted to his new life and was extremely protective of his sisters. When he passed, my oldest daughter begged for another dog so we purchased a Staffy. He was the cutest, friendliest puppy! Sadly, someone kidnapped him from us after being tied up outside a local store on our walk home from the dog park. We learned our lesson and needless to say, have never left our doggy (or any other) unattended for any reason. Our newest addition, Fozzy, was a Christmas gift from Santa 2 years ago. He is very energetic and loves, loves, loves to go on walks and chase his sisters, so weather permitting, we are very active outside.
My husband is also a part-time professional dog walker and has become a canine chef, making all-natural dog treats. Fozzy's food is homemade, consisting of all-natural and organic rice, grains and veggies. Treats consist of dehydrated all-natural chicken (no extra additives, hormones or preservatives), sweet potatoes baked in a pinch of coconut oil and a light sprinkle of cinnamon, "peanut butter and banana oat cookies", etc.
We do have a medium-sized private yard but Fozzy is never left unattended. I prefer to work outside when feasible and Fozzy is always happy to get a tan! My husband and I work from home so constant attention and love is abundant. We also understand some furbabies take some time to adjust to their new surroundings so we have multiple dog gates, as well as a crate for Fozzy and will ensure all furbabies are well-adjusted before integrating them. We also understand not all furbabies are as active as Fozzy, so we are happy to accommodate ourselves to the schedule you have already created.
More about Fozzy - he is a 2-yr-old house-trained Maltipoo. He isn't food or toy-aggressive and enjoys the company of other dogs. He loves walks and being outdoors just as much as he loves snuggling and cuddling. We take him with us to any and all family/outdoor activities where dogs are permissible. He is a constant with us and we have used Dogvacay ourselves for instances when Fozzy is unable to travel. We do not use shock/pinch collars or any other such type of enforcement.. We are well-versed in working with multiple dogs and training.
Needless to say, our family loves dogs. Your furbaby will definitely be loved and well-fed and treated like part of the Easter family!
