About Amy

15 Years Experience Caring For Dogs
We are long time dog lovers. Who until recently were proud pup-parents of Daisy, our 12 year old golden retriever which is how we found Dogvacay and became hosts.

We've hosted some great NYC pups for more than two years on Dogvacay and hope to host yours as well. And because we love dogs so much we have lots of love to give your pup while you are away.

We missed Daisy very much, and recently decided to add a new family member - Hugo a very friendly, playful French Bulldog.

My husband and I are here to provide play time, belly rubs and cuddling. We have both enjoyed having dogs in our lives since we were children.

In Battery Park we have several dog parks and take long strolls along the river.

So if your pup stays with us he/she will get lots of love, go for long walks (or even a jog) or play in the dog park (fountain in the summer) and yummy treats as you instruct.

Amy is a terrific host, and a total superstar. Flexible, friendly, and totally in tune with the best caretaking for canines. (To be honest, we're often a little jealous about how happy our pup is to get to see her!) We couldn't recommend more highly.
My dog usually would not be happy staying with a stranger but he had a great time with Amy!

Amy is very sweet, she took great care of Harry. She would also send me updates and photos every day, which i loved!

Will definitely think of her the next time i need to go out of town.
Love Amy. I can be away trusting that Ika will be having fun :)
Amy was amazing...the best host we have had! She treated our dog with exquisite care, attention, and boundless love. We would enthusiastically recommend her to everyone!
Amy once again took such great care of Georgie, and even took her to the beach! We got regular updates and pictures (beautifully taken ones btw) and couldn't have been happier. Thanks again!
What a great experience we had with Amy! She took great care of our dog Georgie during a two week vacation and sent us regular updates and pictures of Georgie having the best time and being so well cared for. Could not have asked for more!
Prince just finished is second stay with Amy (and Ruben), for 10 nights and 11 days! Amy sent us regular updates of Prince having fun at their lovely home and walks they took in their neighborhood. Prince looked so content and relaxed on all pictures, which made us feel great and thus enjoy our vacation.

Towards the end of our vacation, we got notified that our flights were cancelled due to the snow storm and the first thing that came to our minds was Prince -- it meant that we would not be able to pick him up on the last day of our reservation. Amy could not have been nicer about the situation -- she graciously accepted Prince for an extra night and what could become a very stressful ordeal for us turned out to be just fine.

We could not have asked for a better host than Amy and Ruben for Prince, and I'm sure we'll ask for another stay very soon!
Amy is great, my dog loves her, I fell totally confortable on leaving Ika with her.
We could not have asked for a better host for Prince than Amy. She took great care of Prince for 5 days while we were away, and she sent us pictures and updates regularly. Prince looked so happy when we picked him up, it was very obvious that he had a great time. We're looking forward to Prince's future stays with Amy!
Amy was great, my dog is really shy so we were concerned on leaving her with someone she didn't know, but she loved it, best thing was when we picked her up , she kept kissing amy as a sweet thank you at that minute we knew she really enjoyed it
Amy was fantastic. Before Eddies stay Amy was very helpful answering all my questions promptly. During his stay she sent regular pictures and updates. Eddie appeared very happy during his stay and I would highly recommend Amy as a host.
My dog stayed with Amy for two weeks and I am not sure he wanted to come home! Amy sent regular photos and updates on what he was doing, she is very kind and really seems to love dogs. He is already planning his next vacation with her!
Fantastic experience. Me and my pup could not have asked for more. Quick response to my request. Timeliness in everything. And most importantly providing lots of affection and care to the pup.

Amy sent me all updates and progress via pictures and messages. She did it with utmost regularity.

A very satisfying and worryless experience. Please ask for Amy if you want somone to take care of your pup as if it were their own. You will be very happy and keep coming back for your future needs.

Cheers !!
Amy S. is an amazing dog host. Our shorty jack russell, Caoilie, had a wonderful and safe time visiting Amy for the 9 days we were traveling.

As a host, Amy was thorough in addressing all our concerns during our initial doggy playdate at the local dog park (she had to pass Caoilie's sniff test), to follow-up phone calls and emails as we prepared Caoilie for her "vacation". Upon meeting Amy, it is obvious she is a "dog" person who understands and cares for them as a family member. It is an added benefit that Amy is in the same neighborhood so Caoilie can retain familiar surroundings.

During Caoilie's time with Amy, we received regular text/email updates and photos, highlighting Caoilie's daily activities and any concerns (there were none). Based on the daily updates we knew Caoilie had regular interaction with Amy (Caoilie loves to be with people), and maintained her normal routine of walks, dog park visits, people watching, playtime, etc. We felt comfortable that Caoilie was in a safe and caring environment equivalent to being at home.

It is clearly evident the care and attention given to furry family members who stay with Amy. Although Caoilie was excited to see us when we picked her up, she was also just as happy to stay with Amy. That was Caoilie's stamp of approval, and a clear indication that we will call upon Amy to host Caoilie again.
What a super experience. Amy provided peace of mind and comfort that our senior dog was being well cared for when we had to leave town. When our time away was extended due to delayed flights, she was incredibly understanding and helped us by holding on to our pup until we could get home. Great communicator and responsive. Would not hesitate to recommend.
Amy was a fantastic host! My chihuahua Bailey warmed right up to her and I could tell he felt safe and cared for with her. Amy sent me updates and pics throughout my trip, which kept me at ease and allowed me to enjoy my time away. I would definitely recommend Amy for being easy to work with and for taking great care of my pup (even accommodating his various quirks, such as specific feeding times and techniques). I would use her again without hesitation! Thank you Amy!!
Amy is a wonderful host! This past weekend was the first time Amy looked after our 45lb dog and we couldn't have been happier to have found her - throughout the entire weekend she was very accessible and sent tons of updates. We will definitely ask Amy to look after our dog again - highly recommended!
Amy was fantastic! She went out of her way to put me at ease and to make sure Elke felt loved and comfortable. She kept me up to date with daily pictures and texts telling me all about the fun they were having. I have already booked a second stay!
Amy was great; she was very responsive to communications and sent pictures to us while we were away of her dog & ours playing and on walks. We had a great experience with Amy and dogvacay
Couldn't be happier. We received daily pictures and updates and our dog looked like he had a great time.
Amy was responsive and responsible. I was very very pleased with her service!! Thank you again, Amy
Amy was great from start to finish. She came all the way to my house to meet Mollie and see her night time routine, which is super important for us with Mollie's blindness and diabetes. Once her stay began, Amy sent me regular updates, always including photos, and was very responsive to my helicopter parenting/constant texts. I would definitely recommend her and hope to make a permanent relationship with her for our family so I can continue to have worry free vacations knowing that my little Mel is in good hands.
Amy and Daisy were excellent hosts to my dog Casey. I know she enjoyed her time with them because since her stay she's gone out of her way to say hi to every Golden Retriever she meets -- a breed she didn't have any particular attraction to before meeting Daisy!

Amy was excellent, very reassuring, great about keeping me updated on Casey's activity and flexible when my return trip home became slightly derailed.

A great team!
Amy and her dog Daisy were incredible hosts for my dog Zoe! It was a pretty last minute request, and she was very accommodating. I received regular updates via text and email, including lots of great pictures to see what she was up to while I was gone! I knew the entire time I was gone that she was in great hands. Usually she is ready to get home with me when I get back from a trip, but she was definitely sad to say goodbye to Amy! I definitely plan on using her again!
We are beyond thrilled after our first experience with DogVacay! We were reluctant to kennel our chocolate lab Siena while we were out of town for 10 days, so we decided to try DogVacay which led us to Amy. Amy was so professional, warm and accommodating we had zero qualms that Siena would be cared for as well as she is at home with us. Siena quickly became part of the family and had a great time exploring a new neighborhood on walks and trips to the dog park. We were able to relax and enjoy our ski vacation knowing Siena was in such good hands. Many thanks to DogVacay for providing an alternative to traditional commercial kennels and the opportunity for dogs to be hosted in a loving home environment. We are so grateful to Amy, Ruben and Daisy for taking such good care of Siena and tolerating (and accommodating) her quirks as though she were their own dog. Thank you!!

Amy was great and gave my dog a great week! He loved staying with her dog, Daisy, and running in the park everyday. I really enjoyed getting daily updates and photos. Great job!!
