About Elise

1 Years Experience Caring For Dogs
Hello! My name is Elise Huffman. I am also known as Rocky from Rocky's Reptiles!
I am a student in Kamloops studying animal welfare at Thompson Rivers University. I am also hoping to pursue degrees in animal care and grooming. I was a former student at the Animal Health and Technology program, but decided to take a different route.
I am able to work with senior animals that need regular medication and puppies who are still working on obedience training. I can take your puppy out for a wild run in the park and then have them cleaned and groomed by the time you get home! I can trim nails and give baths, brush teeth and change diapers.
I can also work with animals dealing with separation anxiety or aggression issues. If your animal requires a firm hand or a gentle heart I can be there for them, while giving them all the love and attention they deserve.
I have a small home and can provide in home services for small and senior dogs, where they can relax in a calm environment with some cuddly cats and humans. We live right next to Centennial Park in Westsyde, which features a trail along the river and a large fully fenced dog park.
I am also very capable of caring for reptiles, invertebrates, small mammals, fish and cats! If you have a whole zoo at home-feel free to give me a call! If you have an animal with special needs, I would be happy to work with you! Small or caged animals can come stay in my reptile room, or I can provide daily visits or stay at home care. If you live with a lot of small critters, I'm well accustomed to feeding and caring for large groups. This includes changing water bowls for everyone and freding insects or other feeders. I can keep track of who's shedding and do regular weigh ins for long term care.
No animal is too big, small or odd!
Love and hugs,
Rocky

Elise Huffman cares so much for animals, no disputing it.
If your pet is in her care, they will receive the utmost care and affection from her. She respects them as much as she respects people and devotes so much of her time day by day simply taking care of her own animals at home. ?Not only is she caring when it comes to her furry friends, she is incredibly experienced. Not only has Elise done a year of vet tech school out of TRU, but also researches how to properly care for all kinds of animals on her spare time. If anything happens to animal in her care, she knows how to properly deal with the situation, takes careful record and devotes all of her time towards getting that animal healthy again.
Her knowledge doesn’t stop at dogs as well. ?She has an extensive knowledge of all kinds of animals (taking care of 60+ various critters in her own home).
Even disregarding her knowledge and expertise, Elise will always give an animals the attention it deserves. Because she respects all creatures of every shape and size.

Elise is absolutely astounding with all kinds of animals. She has extensive experience with reptiles, rodents such as rats and mice, cats and dogs and will always go the extra mile to make sure that whichever animal she's taking care of is happy and healthy. Elise has done one year of Animal Health Technology schooling and is also going back to Thompson Rivers University to take an animal well fair course. During her time in the AHT program she was commended for excelling with the training of problem dogs and always made sure all the animals were well taken care of whether that means buying a sweater for a short hair dog who struggled with the cold or spending extra time on training she always made sure their needs were met and exceeded. At home she is personally responsible for rehabilitating several reptiles and cares for over sixty animals ranging from hermit crabs, spiders, snakes, geckos and two cats, all of them are very healthy and very happy. I would recommend her to take care of any animal.

Elise volunteered at the Okanagan Science Centre for many years, helping to care for a wide assortment of animals in our care, as well as putting on shows to introduce children and their families to a range of snakes, lizards, frogs and other reptiles and amphibians. Elise is deeply committed to the well-being of animals. When she lived in Vernon she was on the Okanagan Science Centre Advisory Committee for Animals, which developed our guidelines for humane animal care and ensured that before we took in any animal we could give it the care it needed and provide it with a high quality of life.
