Hi! My name is Rob and I love working with dogs! Dogs have always been an important part of my life. I have studied with CATCH Dog Training Academy and have volunteered at dog rescues.
I live in a pet-friendly, 3 level home, with my wife, Michelle, dog, Dexter, 2 cats, Petey and Frank, and a few reptiles in tanks. We are in a very dog-friendly neighborhood, with neighbor dogs on both sides, and behind our house. My house has a fenced-in/locked backyard. There are sidewalks throughout the neighborhood for walks. I have 3 large dog crates and the ability to separate dogs or block off rooms/areas of the house, if necessary. My 2 cats have their own room, and are not allowed free-roam downstairs when guests are here. I permit pets on my furniture if given your permission.
Dexter is a high-energy, EXTREMELY friendly young guy, who gets very excited about meeting new dogs and humans.
Dexter is trained to sit, stay, lay down, stand, give paw, and high five. He is a very affectionate and loyal dog.
A typical day with Dexter begins with breakfast and a walk, then plenty of indoor/outdoor playtime with toys and tug of war. Everyone is taken outside for potty breaks every 1-1.5 hrs.
We have plenty of places for napping. After dinner, it's back out for another walk. By 8 pm we watch TV and snuggle until bedtime.
We offer, with your permission, homemade peanut butter and banana "Wookiee Cookies", frozen fruit/berry and yogurt treats, and peanut butter oat treats. We also have an assortment of toys, including Kong tug toys, ropes, bones, and tennis balls.
I encourage all guests to bring any of their favorite toys, bed, blanket and/or pillow. These items help relieve any separation anxiety that may occur. I also ask that guests bring their own food/water bowls, as this will make your pup more comfortable eating in a new place.
Thank you for your interest in Rob's Doggie B&B. I look forward to caring for your pup while you're away.
I am also available for one on one training and structured walking classes. Please contact me with any training needs you may have, I'd be happy to help!
