About Lizzie

4 Years Experience Caring For Dogs
Hello! My name is Lizzie - I've been an animal lover my whole life, having grown up on a farm in rural Minnesota. We had dogs, cats, reptiles, parakeets, finches, sparrows, rodents, pheasants, sugar gliders, hedgehogs and I'm sure a few others I'm forgetting.

I studied canine, feline, equine and rabbit massage in neuromuscular therapy school. I went on to work at several boarding/daycare/veterinary facilities for a few years. Since I'm working in mental health now, I miss animals! I've been doing informal dog sitting in my home and other people's. I'm looking to expand my clientele a bit. :)

I have a cat who has been around dogs her whole life.

I believe that every animal on the planet deserves a loving home, and that needs to continue even when parents go out of town. Both my pets get anxious when I'm away, so I know that it's important to provide loving interim care for furbabies.

I'm a very active person - hiker, runner, etc. I'm happy to include your dogs on these outings if that's what they enjoy! I have a fenced in yard with a secure gate. The grass isn't fancy, so they've got plenty of freedom to do as they wish. The second bedroom strictly belongs to animals - your dog can have an entire twin sized bed to themselves.

I will send you daily pictures if you want them, with updates as detailed as you like.

I'm open to a wide variety of personalities, as long as no damage to my home occurs.

Lizzie was an excellent host for our dogs. We have two small dogs, one of which is a rescue who has trust issues and the other one being an escape artist. They both aren't very keen with kennels so I wanted their next boarding experience to be less stressful.

Lizzie was able to bond very quickly with both dogs and her home and yard was a safe environment for them. I felt really comfortable leaving my dogs with her and she provided many texts and photos of the dogs during their stay.

Thanks again Lizzie for watching our little ones and I wholeheartedly recommend Lizzie if you need someone in Longmont to take care of your dogs.

Lizzie was so amazing with my jack russell terrier, Stella. Stella is high strung and extremely shy: she's a very complex dog who can be defensive and slow to warm up to people. The person I had lined up to take care of her (who knew Stella well) canceled at the last minute, and I found Lizzie, who was willing to stay at my house for 5 days.

After I left, Stella exhibited some odd behavior with Lizzie at first: I was a bit worried, but not surprised, as she didn't know her. But within one day, she and Lizzie bonded and became best friends. This is no easy feat! When I came home, Stella was in the best shape I've ever seen her after I've been away: she wasn't totally freaked out, or attention starved in any way . . . she was very calm and content. I could tell that Lizzie took excellent care of her for her to be in this condition. She was like a surrogate mama!

I highly recommend Lizzie to take care of your dogs. I feel fortunate to have found someone who provides such good, loving care.
Lizzie was great. She was super sweet with our dog and her home was a safe environment that we felt comfortable leaving our pet in.
We had a surprise need for a dogsitter over Labor Day weekend and were very happy to find Lizzie. She made sure our two dogs (plus a cat and a Guinea pig) were fed twice a day and got lots of love. She did not have any qualms about our shy doggie who doesn't like people very much.

We were very grateful to find a dog sitter willing to accept our pups' quirks and help us out when we needed it! They were relaxed and happy to see us when we got home!
My pup loved his time with Lizzie! She sent lots of pictures and made sure that he got all the play and snuggles he needed! Came home happy and content! Thanks, Lizzie!
Lizzie is the best! Ive got an old guy (14yr Lab) who although has had a bit of a time lately came home from his stay with Lizzie and Tuna relaxed and rested. I know he had a good time, Lizzie was nice enough to send photos my way throughout the weekend! Its tough leaving your pup, especially when they get a little older but in the right scenario I think its good for them to have a little vacation of their own! Thanks Lizzie and Tuna, see you guys again soon!
Lizzie did a terrific job with our two dogs. She was easy to communicate with and gave us regular photo updates. Her place was super comfortable for them - featuring not only a big yard, but a guest bedroom which they made their own. Lizzie is a real animal lover and I would not hesitate to recommend her!
