I am a professional dog trainer, am certified in pet first aid, and graduated from Sheridan College's Animal Care program in 2006. I have many years of experience caring for others pets as if they were my own, and take great pride in being a reliable and consistent source of help for my clients.
My home is a cozy two-bedroom cottage located only steps from the Goldie Mill Park and river trial. Walking distance to Exhibition Park area and downtown allows for a ton of variety in our neighbourhood walks. As a dog professional, I also spend a large amount of time out hiking the local trails with the dogs in my car. My car is fully equipped with a safety barrier, dog bed, water, crate (as needed), and of course first aid kits, so we are always ready to adventure.
The fenced backyard is completely dog friendly with no neighbouring dogs to share a fence line, has a little dog pool, and relaxed gardens that are free to be trampled by little paws. There is one large tree which provides shade and squirrels for chasing.
In the home we have one cat that is very patient and social with transient dogs, and has lived with a variety of species throughout her life (though small rodents, birds and fish do get their own cat-free suite so everyone feels safe!). As well I have a medium sized dog that does have some social anxieties with new dog relationships. Interactions are always managed until he is ready to warm up with newcomer dogs.
