Come relax in our home on our Five acres! Plenty of room to get those wiggles out by running, playing, and stretching your legs. Plenty of room to make friends with any other guest dogs that might be here.
Feel free to inquire about availability. Often times we have room for another guest dog as the stays can overlap at times. Just ask!
We have many years of experience with dogs. We have both had dogs since childhood. We have also had dogs over the last twenty years of our own. We understand the value and importance of a dog to owners and families. We will be very diligent about caring for your four-legged family member. Dogs need love and a gentle, kind caregiver. We will endeavor to do that for every dog that stays in our home. Someone is always here. We encourage owners to bring a dog bed for their dog to relax on. If your dog doesn't come with a bed, we have a couple extra. Your dog will be welcome to sleep where it chooses. If your dog is still getting its bearings we may use a roomy crate for sleeping accommodations. During the warm months, your dog will enjoy central air conditioning and ceiling fans. During the winter months, your dog will enjoy central heat and the wood pellet stove in the family room. Dogs of all sizes like to relax by the fire on cold winter evenings. It just seems to be instinct!
The map shows us in proximity to highway 95. There are seven acres, a home, and a fence between us and the highway. Plus we always walk the dogs on leashes for security.
We have a very pet-friendly home with ample room. Our acreage is also beneficial for lots of exercise and bathroom breaks. On a typical day, your dog will get several long walks with bathroom breaks at other times as needed. We will walk your dog with a retractable leash for maximum exercise opportunities. There's nothing like watching a dog run with other dogs, catching a Frisbee or tennis ball and playing with other toys or water from a water hose in the warmer months of the year. Even in the cold months, dogs like to get out and explore. We don't encourage the dogs to run in the woods as our yard is plenty big enough. We may take your dog to a local park or for a walk along the towpath at the Chesapeake and Ohio Canal. At the same time, we have the ability to take long walks without ever leaving our property because of our acreage.
Our dog boarding and other services are second to none we believe. We are professional grade. We will be very diligent and proactive about caring for your dog as if it was our own. We will always be kind and gentle and communicate with you throughout the stay. We like to treat the dogs with bones and dog treats if that is acceptable to you. Sometimes a dog will have a very sensitive stomach which we will need to know so that we don't cause unnecessary sensitivity to your dog. We will be careful about feeding time. Even though guest dogs will come from good family homes, it’s easy for dogs to forget their manners when it comes to food.
We like and love all breeds. The only breed that we can't service is the Pit Bull - American Staffordshire Terrier. This is because our county of residence has passed a law that prohibits this breed from residing or visiting for short stays within the county boundaries.
We also expect your dog to be up to date with his / her shots. This includes rabies vaccinations and bordetella vaccinations also known the kennel cough vaccine. If your dog is sick or has just recovered from being sick please kindly communicate that to us as it’s not fair to any other guest dogs, owners, or us to allow a dog to infect another dog. If your dog has seen a veterinarian and has recently finished a prescription or is currently taking a prescription we are happy to administer the medication. We just ask that you communicate so we can be aware and plan for your dog’s stay accordingly.
We look forward to meeting you and your four-legged family member. We will most likely greet you outside or in our foyer. This is because if we have any other guest dogs here when you drop your dog off current guests can get excited and cause some drama. We will take a few minutes to slowly introduce the dogs. Safety comes first! Dogs have been human’s best friends for generations. We respect those relationships. We also value our relationship with your dog and will work to develop a positive connection with an enjoyable stay and a bond that will translate into repeated visits.
Thank-you for considering us. We hope you will choose us to care for your four-legged family member.
