We have been pet owners for the past 50+ years, having owned a Border Collie,
Poodle, Siberian Husky and 3 ChowChows. At one time owning and raising the first three breeds listed here together. We are both retired and live in a 55+ community in Cloverdale. We recently had to have our 16 1/2 year old Chow put to sleep. We didn't think we would want another dog so soon, but our house seemed so empty that we found a great Breeder in WA State, and now have a 1 1/2 old Chow Chow puppy, which we got when he was 12 weeks old. We are both healthly with no infirmities that would prevent us from handling small to medium sized dogs. Our home is air-conditioned and heated, we also have a fireplace (where our chow loves to lay by on colder days). Our back yard is completely fenced with a large covered patio and a means for dogs to access the yard without assistance. Based on the age of the pet and their activity level, we can accommodate play times, daily walks, and other activities that they like to do, such as dog parks.
The only restrictions we would impose, would be aggressive animals, pets that are not housebroken, pets under 2 years old, weight restrictions, no larger than 50lbs.
