We have had dogs for more than 30 years. Both of our current dogs come from Mexico: one was completely wild from the mountains above Valle de Bravo and the other was a gift from a friend in Zipolite in Oaxaca.
Our dogs have free range of the lower two floors of the house and access to the outside yard through a dog door. They sleep on the living room furniture which is covered and the covers are washed weekly. On a typical day the dogs walk with us in the woods behind the house where they can run free; they always eat after exercise. We feed them raw meat and fish, a little kibble and blended raw veggies and they are super healthy as a result. They get lots of cuddles during the day and when they choose to be outside in the yard, they can watch over the neighbour's field and report on any activity there. They have a second walk later in the day, either to the woods again or to a nearby abandoned golf course, again where they can run free. They eat again after their second walk and snuggle up for the night.
We also do AirBnB and you can read our reviews by going to their website and clicking on "Beautiful house, beautiful garden" in Powell River, BC.
