About Trisha

28 Years Experience Caring For Dogs
Hi fellow parent! Thank you for taking a look at our page. Myself, husband, Dan and pup, Stout recently moved to Stoughton from South Boston and are excited to bring our successful sitting business to the South Shore!

We both graduated from Stonehill College and attended graduate schools at Northeastern and Suffolk Universities. I currently work for Boston University and Dan works at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston.

We both grew up with dogs. Dan's family had sweet cockapoo and an outgoing springer spaniel. I grew up with two black lab mixes. One had severe mental and anxiety problems so I am very familiar with dog stress and how they cope. One was very large, over 110 pounds. We currently have a 4 yr old 14lb rescue Jack-Chi named Stout (Terrier/Chihuahua mix). He rarely barks, other than for the doorbell/knock and is generally the most mellow dog around. He does have a crush on big dogs!

Why DogVacay?
I am very aware of the hardships of finding someone to look after a pet. I wish that there were more options for families besides kennels, which can feel impersonal and cause anxiety for a lot of dogs. In addition, it is pricey for a family, and you don't always get what you pay for. Meanwhile, there are friendly neighbors like us who would love to hang out with them for the weekend. I think this site offers so many opportunities to meet and bond with people in your community, build trust, and offer more options for people weary of the traditional kennel. Beyond the care aspect, we try and relieve most of the stress of finding dog care by being transparent with prices and schedules. I love being a part of this. Being able to hand pick who will care for your dog is an important feature that is not considered in the traditional sense of a kennel.

We live on a quiet col de sac about a mile round where we take our pups on walks. They can also enjoy .3 acres of fenced in back yard space!

To consider before drop off:
I try and keep a tidy home. Please be sure that your pup is clean and had a recent bath. I do bathing on requests and am happy to add that service.
Please bring food for your dog. Switching dogs food may cause dietary problems and it is also helpful when they have something familiar in a new environment.
Please be sure that your dog is walked prior to drop off especially if it is a drop off prior to us leaving for work. If they were not able to be walked, be sure to let us know!

Trisha was great with Brady! Brady has sensory seizures and we never leave him with anyone but as it was our wedding we were stuck and we are so happy to have found Trisha and her husband! We loved them and so did Brady! She even was amazing enough to bring Brady to our ceremony and stay for cocktail hour while we did pictures! Seriously she was the best!!!!

Our pups, Willa and Cosmo, loved going to Trish's! We were very comfortable letting them go on a Vacay to her house and know they had a fantastic time. Trish sent us multiple pictures of them throughout their stay which was great to see. We'll certainly be booking their next vacay with Trish :)

Trisha was absolutely wonderful. Super accommodating with pick up and drop off times and responsive to my emails. Our dog, Henry, was totally at ease while staying with Trisha! We also loved the adorable photo updates - they certainly put our minds at ease to see Henry having such fun. In the past boarding at kennels or "pet hotels" Henry has come back uneasy and anxious. After staying at Trisha's he was relaxed and his loveable self. We will definitely book here again!!

Absolutely fabulous, my two dogs went to Trisha for their first away from home. Both dogs, cockapoos loved Trisha and her husband. We will be booking again with Trisha. It was great seeing pictures while they stayed there and very reassuring knowing and seeing how happy they were.

The best host ever!! We are so glad we found them. The pics they sent during the stay calmed our nerves :) Don't think twice before you book with them! Becks was super happy!
Lady and I love love love Trisha!! This stay was no different and I can't wait for the next time Lady gets to stay with her Stout again!! :)
Trish was amazing. We had a last minute trip that came together in a day. Trish was able to not only met Riley early in the afternoon but made herself available to drop him off later that day.

There was never a worry during the trip as she sent us pictures of Riley and Scout becoming best friends.

By the time I was picking Riley up when I returned, I figured I would ask about her schedule for a few more up coming trips we have planned.

Trish saved my life with a last-minute booking and a super-early drop off. She was so welcoming to my dogs, and it warmed my heart to receive pics, videos and updates of the pups every day that I was away.
Olive and Sam appear to have been treated with the utmost love and care, to have had a blast, and to have found good friends in Stout and his family. I would book with Trisha again in a heartbeat!

Trisha and Dan were wonderful hosts for my pug over the course of three nights. They have a very spacious home and outdoor play area and took extremely good care of my dog. Trish was so responsive to all my messages and concerns. The photo updates were also great to look forward to . My little guy is super shy but having Stout, their dog, really eased the transition and comfort-level for him. I would absolutely recommend Trish and Dan to anyone needing a place for their dog to stay. You won't be disappointed!

Lady had a blast with Trisha and Stout! Trisha takes such good care of her and I love leaving her with them! Thanks guys :)
I'm only hours home from my trip, but made it my first priority after unpacking to review my experience with Trisha and Dan, who "pet-sat" our dog Piper this weekend.

Piper is attached at the hip to my wife. He was a dog that was found abandoned on the street, abused, and has a bit of what we think us PTSD. He gets VERY nervous if you are not right at his side, cannot stay alone, etc. Unfortunately my cousin suddenly passed away and were needed a dog sitter so we could attend services out of state. Very nervous that it would be hard on Piper to be without us, (and knowing we couldn't put him a kennel-type environment with his anxious personality), we spent hours on DogVacay looking for the perfect host.

Trisha got back to us within minutes (talk about professional!). She was so awesome and detailed, and we knew right then that Piper would be in good hands. Piper stayed with Trish and her husband in their gorgeous home in a safe, quiet neighborhood (with a fenced in backyard) for 2 days, and they were excellent at communicating with his. They're such good people- so kind and friendly and love animals.

Piper is now home (though I'm not sure he wants to be!) I've said jokingly "Piper- Do you want to go back to Trisha, Dan, and Stout's house?" and his ears perk up and the tail starts wagging.

They are the best of the best, and I cannot recommend them highly enough. We are forever grateful to them for taking Piper on such short notice and taking such good care of him!

Trish was exceptionally responsive. She gave frequent updates and sent photos so we could check in on our pup. I would recommend her to anyone.
Trisha and Dan are wonderful with our 13-year-old pug. They have a big yard for him to wander and he's happy as a pup.
Trish was fantastic! Lady loved her so much and she came home a happy tired pup!
Trish and Dan were great hosts for our dog Macy. They were extremely accommodating and I new our fury baby was in great hands :-)
Trisha is awesome. Loving, caring, completely trustworthy. Very flexible.
Trisha is awesome. Maggie was well cared for, obviously. Trisha was quite flexible. She sent photo updates. Will definitely have her take care of Maggie again.
Tricia was absolutely lovely, and I felt completely at home leaving Tuukka with her. He's pretty rambunctious, but her little dog seemed to cope just fine. She was very flexible, kept us up-to-date with pictures, and I'd definitely recommend. (I've just moved away from the area, otherwise I would definitely use Tricia again.)
