Hi fellow parent! Thank you for taking a look at our page. Myself, husband, Dan and pup, Stout recently moved to Stoughton from South Boston and are excited to bring our successful sitting business to the South Shore!
We both graduated from Stonehill College and attended graduate schools at Northeastern and Suffolk Universities. I currently work for Boston University and Dan works at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston.
We both grew up with dogs. Dan's family had sweet cockapoo and an outgoing springer spaniel. I grew up with two black lab mixes. One had severe mental and anxiety problems so I am very familiar with dog stress and how they cope. One was very large, over 110 pounds. We currently have a 4 yr old 14lb rescue Jack-Chi named Stout (Terrier/Chihuahua mix). He rarely barks, other than for the doorbell/knock and is generally the most mellow dog around. He does have a crush on big dogs!
I am very aware of the hardships of finding someone to look after a pet. I wish that there were more options for families besides kennels, which can feel impersonal and cause anxiety for a lot of dogs. In addition, it is pricey for a family, and you don't always get what you pay for. Meanwhile, there are friendly neighbors like us who would love to hang out with them for the weekend. I think this site offers so many opportunities to meet and bond with people in your community, build trust, and offer more options for people weary of the traditional kennel. Beyond the care aspect, we try and relieve most of the stress of finding dog care by being transparent with prices and schedules. I love being a part of this. Being able to hand pick who will care for your dog is an important feature that is not considered in the traditional sense of a kennel.
We live on a quiet col de sac about a mile round where we take our pups on walks. They can also enjoy .3 acres of fenced in back yard space!
To consider before drop off:
I try and keep a tidy home. Please be sure that your pup is clean and had a recent bath. I do bathing on requests and am happy to add that service.
Please bring food for your dog. Switching dogs food may cause dietary problems and it is also helpful when they have something familiar in a new environment.
Please be sure that your dog is walked prior to drop off especially if it is a drop off prior to us leaving for work. If they were not able to be walked, be sure to let us know!
