Hi there, and welcome to Rachel's Rover Retreat, where your pup can catch up on some R&R.
My name is Rachel. I'm an English instructor, runner enthusiast, and pup momma. I moved to Baton Rouge last summer and began fostering with Friends of the Animals, a local dog rescue organization, soon thereafter. Since then, I've fostered over a dozen pups, all of whom live with me, my boyfriend, and our shepherd mix, until they find their furever home. Prior to fostering, I volunteered at a variety of animal shelters over the past decade, and both Stormy (my pup) and I have passed puppy and adult level 1 dog training.
Because I love fostering so much, I knew becoming a Dogvacay host would be a wonderful way to meet even more Baton Rouge dogs and help my fellow pup parents looking for reliable pet care. I offer walks, overnight stays at your home, pick up/drop off service, weekend day care, and overnight stays at my house.
Since we have our Stormy girl (who really runs the show, let's be honest!), I do ask that we schedule a meet-and-greet before any overnight in-home stays at my apartment. Just like with our fosters, she has the final say on who gets to stay over! Stormy also loves walking with other dogs, and if you'd like yours to socialize on walks, I'm happy to bring her on walks with your pup!
Feel free to message me with any questions or to schedule a meet n' greet.
