My name is Rachel Stansens and I have worked around animals before, and have had much experience with them throughout my life. I recently moved to Nanaimo from Toronto, where I was working at the Toronto Humane Society as an animal care worker; a job in which I greatly excelled and enjoyed.
I have experience with all animals from dogs and cats, to rabbits and reptiles, from domestic to wildlife. Growing up my Father studied as a vet and as such I have always maintained a keen interest in the understanding of animals. I am familiar with a lot of illnesses as well as behavioural issues. I have also worked as a dog groomer which has allowed for me to become familiar with how to work with animals who are not comfortable outside of their home setting.
I currently have a three-legged dog named Frankie, a fat cat named Atticus and our newest addition, Scout-- a 15 week old kitten. I live with my husband Kevin who, like me, is very passionate about animals.
While my cats get along with the dog, they are very respectful of other animals' space (the baby definitely learned this from Atticus!), and aren't pushy or aggressive with animals who are uncomfortable around them. They will leave them to their own space.
I look forward to hearing from you!
(Frankie, Atticus & Scout)
