About Rachel

10 Years Experience Caring For Dogs
Used to be a dog (terrier) owner until our move to Canada. Pet-sit friends' dogs & ex-CAARE dog foster. A home with a dog is a happier home, which is why we love having yours over! :)

House with 2 (tile for bathroom + hardwood) floors and a fenced front and back yard. Minutes away from a park.

Your pet will be loved - promise! With 6 (including myself) [1 sister currently studying abroad but will be back to visit during the holidays] dog lovers in my family, your pup will be guaranteed lots of attention. [The only "child" in the house is my 17 year old little sister] I, Rachel, may be your first point of contact but really all the members of my family take care of the pups! We stick to the dogs' regular routine as much as possible so that they settle down as soon as possible. All the information you tell me (or any one of us) will be passed on to everyone else so everyone will know all your pup's needs/likes/dislikes/routine/etc and so your pup can have an enjoyable stay :)

20/7 supervision.

What I usually do for when I have 2 dogs (each from a different family) is to have 1 dog on each floor of my house. Living in a house with a family of 6, there will usually be at least 1 person keeping your doggie company! The amount of interaction between them depends on each dog but it can be very close to none. If this is a concern, please check out my calendar to see if I am already hosting another dog during the dates you're interested in! [a yellow box means I already have one dog booked!]

We board large dogs for $40/night and we're also open to hosting other pets (eg: cats).

DogVacay runs on 24 hour cycles - to ensure full insurance coverage, there will be a late pick-up charge (w/a custom quote). 3-6hrs : $15 / onwards: $30

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any concerns or inquiries!

Rachel helped us navigate the DogVacay system when we got confused and booked for too few days. Recomend her to all in the area!
Our dog came back from his stay very relaxed. This was how I knew Rachel Did an amazing job. She sent video and picture updates the whole time we were away and was very communicative. I will definatley be calling on her in the future!
I went out of town for 1 week and was lucky enough to find Rachel through DogVacay. I read over the reviews and decided she was the best fit for my dog Flattie. Rachel made the whole process smooth as she was efficient in responding and clear on her answers. I was especially concerned about finding someone I could trust and she exceeded my expectations. Throughout my trip, Rachel sent videos and photos with little narratives to show me what Flattie was up to. When I picked Flattie up and brought him home, I could tell he had been well taken care of. I believe Rachel is really flexible with timings - you should probably just provide a heads up and she does what she can to accomodate. I will most definitely be looking for Rachel when I go out of town next and once again, am extremely happy to have found her. Thank you Rachel(and family) for your care!

I was uneasy leaving our dog because she would not stop barking and hiding behind my legs but Rachel sent us plenty of pictures and it put my mind at ease. The experience was pleasant and there were not issues.
Our Sammy stayed with Rachael and her family this past weekend. Everyone was warm and welcoming. Rachael sent us photos and messages while we were away so we could enjoy our trip without worry. She was also flexible with drop off and pickup times. We would definitely use Rachael again.

This has been my first time using dog vacay. I was a bit hesitant leaving my 3 crazy French Bulldogs with other people. I carefully selected Rachel based on other peoples reviews and everything went well. She was very nice and so is her family. You can really tell that they all love animals. She was very flexible with the pricing, the drop off and pick up time and how to care for my dogs. She also updated me with daily photos and left me a message on how my dogs were doing. My dogs were very calm when we picked them up. I highly recommend Rachel!

We had a great experience with Rachel and her family taking our boy Ziggy for 9 days while we went to California. At first, we didn't want to leave our pup with just anyone, but unfortunately we had run out of options for pupsitting. Ziggy made himself at home and appreciated the extra effort they took to make him feel comfortable. Our son was not happy about having to leave Ziggy behind, but as we received daily photos and videos, he was happy to see that Ziggy was adjusting well.
We highly recommend Rachel and her family! And if we are ever in a pickle, we will for sure turn to Rachel again.

Great host for my pet. She was a caring and attentive to my furry family member:) It was the first time I have had someone other than family look after my dog. It was a pleasant experience for both of us. Thanks !)
Rachel took very good care of our old dog and sent us plenty of pictures and videos to let us know he was doing OK! It was a real relief to be able to see that he was happy while we were away.

We had a great experience with Rachel - our doggy had a great time and Rachel was super accommodating with the pick up and drop off times. Thanks so much Rachel!
Overall a pretty good experience
Thank you once again to Rachel and her family for taking such good care of our princess, Puteri, and giving us peace of mind during our time away.
Rachel took a good care of Bruin! She sent us pictures all through the week updating us on our pet's stay. She was always quick to respond. Bruin is not a small dog and full of energy but Rachel managed to control him and gave him enough exercises. Bruin seems to had a good time!

Racheal was great, Very accommodating to my last minute booking. Dogs were calm and happy when I picked them up and received regular updates.
This was our first time with Rachel L. We were a little apprehensive initially as she was new to DogVacay and did not have any reviews. However, after several messaging dialogues and our meet-and-greet session, we felt comfortable leaving our precious little dog in Rachel's care. Rachel took the time to answer all our questions and concerns which made us feel at ease that she would be a wonderful host for our beloved pet.

Our dog took to Rachel from the very start and that was a very good sign because a dog can sense out people who genuinely loves them. For the six days that we were away, Rachel kept us posted with daily emails and pictures. The pictures told us a thousand words ... and we knew that our dog was well groomed, loved and cared for by Rachel. The added bonus was that our little precious princess also had the loving care and attention of Rachel's whole family.

Thank you so very much Rachel for taking such good care of Puteri. To anyone who is looking for a host who would provide the same care and love to your dear pet as you yourself would, we highly recommend Rachel L.
