What can I say? I love animals and I have too much time on my hands. My boyfriend works from home. I stay home so I can help when things get busy, but things are slow about 90% of the time, so that leaves a lot of time to fill. I love dogs and know how hard it is to leave them when you can't take then with you. I can provide a loving environment where your dog will always have someone with them. We live in a calm, quiet household with dog beds and toy spread throughout the house. Our home is an old brick building that was turned into a home. We have over 7,000 square feet and they will mostly have free reign. I say 'mostly' because the dogs stay were I am, as the doors to the stairs are closed. So if I am upstairs (office) they can explore there or if I am downstairs (bedroom, living room) they will be too.
As for exercise, you just tell me what your dogs need. We do not have a fenced yard, but we can go on walks and we do have a cable run. They would not be left alone on the cable run, that just lets them run, or play fetch, without me having to keep up with them. Of course we will take leashed potty breaks many time throughout the day.
As for potty breaks....in addition to outdoor breaks, one of my dogs is difficult and will not go potty outside unless the weather is perfect, so we have a "potty station" both upstairs and down, that has fake grass and potty pads.
We cannot take aggressive dogs. If your dog has shown aggression to people, we are not the right fit for you. If the dog show aggression to us when you drop it off, we won't accept the dog. If you don't know how you dog will respond, feel free to schedule a meet and greet before you plan to go away. If your dog shows aggression during boarding (ie. tries to bite us), we will have to cage him/her. We do have a large cage, but would prefer dogs that can live with us, like one of the family.
I am not a great house keeper. The house is cluttered and could probably use a dusting. If this is a problem, you will need to find someone else, but I don't think your dog will mind. S/he will be too involved in near constant pets or asleep on my lap or the couch.
A typical day would we be us cuddled on the couch with many trips outside to potty/play/walk. We also play lots of games inside, like fetch, tug a war, find the treat, or I have many smart toys I can setup.
I have taken care of dogs for most of my life and have fostered as well. I can take care of special needs dogs (depending on their needs) and can give meds.
I do require proof that your dog(s) are caught up on their shots (including Bordetella aka "kennel cough"). I can provide proof that my dogs are caught up as well, just ask. I also require that your dog be current on a flea and tick treatment as well, like Frontline, Advantage, etc.
