I have recently become available again to start dog sitting!
For several years I have lived with other peoples' dogs, babysat their dogs, etc. This year I have been fostering dogs through two rescue organizations. On a walk I met another woman who introduced me to this website, so I thought I'd give it a try.
I currently work from home mostly, so I'm often home with your dog. I'm at my computer writing, and I take lots of coffee breaks and possibly doggie bite size snack breaks :) The longest I'm away from home is when I'm at the gym, or shopping. When appropriate I'll try to bring your dog with me (e.g., if dog friendly and I'm visiting a friend with a dog, your dog will join in!).
I'm simply doing this as a way to have companionship at home and pet energy around. So, it's important to know that your dog would have to be a good fit here. I live in an apartment - I have a concrete patio but no yard, so I would take your dog out on small walks to use the washroom.
Typical dog schedule:
1) Morning walk: 15-30 minutes
2) Go outside early afternoon
3) Evening walk/jog later afternoon (30-45 minutes)
4) go outside again before bedtime.
Essentially I am looking for small dogs that are relatively quiet, well behaved and get along well with other dogs. Ideally I'll have one dog at a time (unless there is a foster in my home). Ideally, barking is not an issue for your dog, as I live in an apartment and may receive complaints. In particular, if I left the apartment for a few hours, my hope is that your dog would be okay alone for that time. Your dog is allowed to be up on my couch. Over night, I would have your dog in it's bed in my room, or if you use a crate you could bring that too.
