My husband and I are both dog lovers...we're pretty much crazy for every dog we meet. We are generally up early in the morning to get ready for work and school. Our dog Oliver spends the morning outside in our fenced-in yard, going about his business, checking on our vegetable garden, and sniffing along the fence line for clues about what happened the night before.
Right before we leave for work and school we give him a scoop of food and refresh his water. We're out of the house from about 8-3. Olly has the run of the house and he naps and hangs out alone, in any room of the house he pleases. Sometimes, if the weather is just right, we'll let him be out in the yard all day and leave the back of the house open for him to wander in and out.
We return home in the afternoon and spend the rest of the day petting and cuddling, playing outside in our yard and eating dinner. We cap every evening off with a long walk through our neighborhood-sometimes we go 2 miles! Then it's bedtime and Olly chooses where he would like to rest for the night. Usually it's in his (open) kennel or on the floor in our room, but sometimes it's right in bed with us!
On the weekends we like to visit Shawnee-Mission dog park, a huge off-leash park with walking trails, open fields and a special section of the lake just for dogs.
