Hi, I know how important safe, customized, and familiar care is for your 'child' especially when choosing a temporary second home while you are away. Feel comfortable knowing that I will care for and respect your personal instructions to the upmost regarding requirements and/or special needs for your tiny, medium, or large sized best friend. Having grown up with dogs always, I understand their needs and went through boarding our dogs at kennels or even the veterinarian's yet always with the painful result of them having experienced extreme distress and sadness. I'm glad to offer a better and happier alternative, and would also be happy to schedule a meet/playtime before a stay over to become acquainted with one another. I am conveniently located near parks and dog parks for private walks/playtime or more social interaction, whichever you and your dog prefer. An active outdoors enthusiast, I'm also a runner and would welcome a four-legged partner on runs which is usually a lot of fun and good exercise for both of us. Regardless of how much play or outdoors involved I would plan on keeping by your dog's side as much as possible every day.
The 'Puppy Penthouse' is a clean, bright and sunny, sky-light and fresh air filled, top floor apartment in a three story walk up in Brooklyn. There are no other pets in residence to be concerned with dominance issues or treading on occupied territory in this three bedroom apartment; Furry paws-wise, the Puppy Penthouse will belong to your dog. He or she can have their own bedroom or they are welcome to sleep in mine, or whichever room in the apartment they choose. There is a/c in the summer and heat of course during winter, both of which I'd modify to your dog's comfort level. If they have any, for added comfort I would encourage their own bedding and favorite toy brought from home to stay over, otherwise a familiar item of your own they can keep around themselves while you are away. I also have a car ready right outside if needed, and two 24 hr. emergency veterinary care clinics nearby.
My personal experience with different breeds ranges from shepherds, huskies, chow chows, spaniels, chihuahuas, pomeranians, as well as some eccentric labs and retrievers. I'm familiar with shyness, fearfulness, hyper-sensitivity, high energy, bullying, and territorial behavior in dogs, and know the special attention, patience and trust it can take to care for them.
Please feel free to contact me anytime with any questions you may have, and know that if I'm trusted to care for your dog, he or she will receive the attention they need while you are away.
Thanks for your consideration and I look forward to meeting you and your dog,
