About Fazeela

20 Years Experience Caring For Dogs
Hi Friends!! My name is Fazeela and I live in a cozy one-bedroom apartment with my husband Brett, and our pack of Chow Chows named Tesla and Tiberius. Tesla, a female, is 3 years old and Tiberius, a male, is 2 years old. They are so friendly and have so much fun that we call them the TnT Party Factory!! To be quite honest, they are more popular than we are in our neighborhood. Last year, we added a kitten to our little family named Hazel. She is a 1 1/2 year old ticked Maine Coon. She has lived with dogs her entire life, is super friendly and loves meeting new pups too. To check out some of their adventures, follow the pups on Instagram @ TnTpartyfactory.
We were asked by Dogvacay to film a news segment for MSNBC's Your Business!!!! Check it out here: http://on.msnbc.com/1SqjTI9

Brett is New Hope Liaison at the Animal Care Center of NYC. His job is finding rescues for dogs on the shelter's kill list. He is also training our youngest dog to be a licensed therapy dog at local children and VA medical centers on the weekends. I am completing a PsyD in Clinical Psychology and live in NH 50% of the time. I work as a Research Analyst in Flat Iron part-time and I am a volunteer Crisis Counselor/Advocate for Beth Israel's Sexual Assault & Intimate Partner Violence program. We conduct home visits for the Chow Chow Rescue of Central NY and are active members of Ecohealth Alliance's Young Professional Council. I know it sounds like a crazy schedule, but the best part is that our dogs are not left at home for more than 4 to 6 hours a day.

We live in Lefferts Garden, directly across the street from Prospect Park. It is a quiet escape within the city with access to untouched nature. Prospect Park is a dog’s paradise with off-leash hours in three areas, the Nethermead, Longmeadow and Peninsula.

For Tesla & Tiberius a typical day begins at 7:30am with morning cuddles. Next the dogs go on a 45-minute walk around the Lefrak Center and Lakeside section of the park (On occasion, the pups are joined by Hazel). Breakfast is served upon return to the Lair. Most days they get a mix of Natural Balance brand wet and dry food but sometimes the pups get a treat of homemade food. After eating each dog gets a 20-minute grooming session. Their second walk of the day occurs anytime between 5:30-7pm. During this walk we take the dogs to an off-leash meet up in the Nethermead. Even though these hours aren't officially "off-leash" the parks dept. and police allow this group to meet-up daily. We haven't had a single problem in the 3 years we have been bringing Tesla there. There are usually 30-35 dogs heading in and out from 5:00 to 7:30pm. Dinner is served upon returning to the apt. Tesla and Tiberius's last walk occurs after 11pm and lasts approx. 10-20 minutes. If necessary the dogs get another 20 minute grooming session before bed. The day ends with more cuddles before we attempt to kick them out of our bed. It doesn’t always work and we usually wake up to find at least one sleeping at our feet.

We tend to be homebodies on the weekend. We just love our neighborhood so much! We have settled in quite happily over the last 6 years. On the weekends the first walk of the day usually lasts about 1-2 hours. We take the time to explore new trails and allow the dogs to take a quick dip in the dog beach. We love giving Tesla and Tiberius new experiences so one weekend a month we do something for them. Trips have included fishing, camping, going to the beach, hiking and bat detecting. They really are the most country city dogs we know! We have had the pleasure of taking some of the pups we sit with us on these adventures in the past!!!

Brett and I make all of our dog treats. We make our own jerky, crisps, cookies, biscuits, meatballs, bars, and even frozen yogurt for our pups. We try to use ingredients from the farmers market and use a lot of fresh fruits and vegetables. With your permission, we will always have treats made available for your pup and adhere to any dietary restrictions you may have. If you chose to stay with us, I want to assure you that your pup will be treated as one of our own. Brett and I have been dog owners for over 20 years and possess an array of skills to make the separation from your pet bearable and even pleasant. Our youngest puppy broke his leg two summers ago. As a result, we have experience dealing with emergency situations as they may arise, advocating for and providing the necessary rehabilitation for an injured or ill pet.

Bookings for 2 or more dogs start at $65 a night. Rates depend on the personality of the dogs and required additional care. Rates for dogs with special needs and young puppies less than 6 months old start at $60. Daycare rates are $35 for 5-6 hours and $50 for 8 hours or more. If you live within 30 minutes of the park, we offer in home visits for both dogs ($45) and cats ($15-20). Home visits last approx. 30 minutes and include all walks for the day, feeding and cuddle time.

Brett and I absolutely love dogs!!! Please do not hesitate to ask questions. We are very flexible and open to customizing your stay. We are very dedicated to caring for our pets and hope you can see your pup will be in great hands. We will always be available to chat and will send updates daily or at your request.

Thanks again!
My dog was very well taken care of!
I made contact on relatively short notice due a short deadline for a trip and my other walker being unavailable. They got back to me quickly and came to meet me and my dog. My dog is generally well behaved, but has a couple triggers due to some abuse. I always worry when I travel without him. Fazeela and her partner did a great job handling him...and I had a great trip thanks to their taking care of him. I would use them again.

Lou always loves her time with your family! She came home happy and totally tuckered out, which is just what we hoped for. Also, thanks for the homemade treats, she loves them!
Fazeela and Brett were wonderful! They took really great care of our dog and sent us lots of pics and updates on how she was doing. We would definitely book with them again!
I was nervous at first to leave my puppy Finn for the first time but Fazeela was so great that I would absolutely do it again! He had so much fun with her two dogs and I enjoyed getting lots of photo updates! I swear after returning from his Vacay Finn is walking better on the leash and calmer too!

Pebbles seems to have had a wonderful time. Their two other dogs and cat were very friendly. She had a blast playing in the park (the apartment faces prospect park). We got regular updates with photographs and they were extremely nice and flexible with drop off and pick up times. We would certainly leave Pebbles with Fazeela in the future and we strongly recommend them.

Thanks again, as always Gnarley was very happy and you guys did a great job!
Fazeela and Brett watched our dog Lexie over the Christmas holidays while we were out of town. Lexie was new to our family at the time and was dealing with some anxiety in adjusting to life in the big city! My wife and I were nervous to leave her, but Brett and Fazeela put us at ease. They walked Lexie multiple times per day, fed, and played with her. They also cared for our 2 cats. Brett made sure to text us updates while we were gone, which was greatly appreciated. We highly recommend them!

Fazeela and her husband Brett were awesome. I got timely responses. After a quick meet up in the park, I scheduled a daycare session. Brett followed up and confirmed a time. Once I dropped Chayce off, he was a little apprehensive but I was told that he meshed well with both pups and their cat! When I picked him up at the end of the day, he seemed to fit right in. He was more than tired by the time we got home.

Fazeela and Brett are amazing! Charlie walks with their pack at least 4 times a week and has a blast. He is always tired when I get home. Fazeela and Brett are very accommodating in scheduling and any last minute shifts and responsive to questions.

I have the utmost trust in both of them and know they care for Charlie like he was one of their dogs.

I'm very thankful to have found them!

A big thank you to Fazeela and Brett! We were nervous parents leaving Lou since we just got her from a rescue less than two months earlier. Lou tends to be skittish around new people, but she did great and ended up having fun!

Brett sent us photos and text updates, even a video of Lou having a great time with her new friends. We even feel like since she's been back some of her social anxiety has eased.

We'll definitely call upon Fazeela and Brett again when we head out of town. It's great to have a reliable and trustworthy sitter right in our own neighborhood!

Fazeela and Brett were great as always. They even gave Gnarley a special treat for Thanksgiving. Thanks again!
Fazeela and Brett were fantastic. Gnarley had a great stay. She has a very strong personality so can take a bit to warm up to people, but they were very good with her. I definitely will have Gnarley stay with them again, highly recommend.
Bullseye was exhausted. Good job! Thanks again.
Fazeela was absolutely lovely! She has two gentle giant chows who seem completely accustomed to having other four legged guests in their home. While I was away Fazeela sent me pictures of my dog outside, inside & complete with cute stories along the way. When I picked Teddy up, she took her time filling me in on other stories I missed and as a parting gift handed me a bag of home made salmon treats that Teddy loves. How do I know that Teddy loved them? Because the bag was empty by the time I got home. I had to write her to get the recipe! Thank you Fazeela! :o)

Millie had a great time with Fazeela and Brett and their dogs. Fazeela provided me with regular updates and pictures, and she sent Millie home with salmon treats and a fruit smoothie. I recommend her highly.
Brett and Fazeela were great! They accommodated our last-minute request after another sitter fell through at the last minute, and they sent us lots of pics to let us know Emma and Sophie were doing well and having fun in Prospect Park. Will definitely reach out to them for our next trip out of town!

We have booked with Fazeela twice, and both experiences were fantastic! Penny is so happy staying with them, I almost feel guilty taking her away from her friends when I pick her up!
We are so happy with fazeela, our little Lev is very well taken care of. Fazeela is very flexible and easy to work with. We really appreciate her service
I cannot find the words to accurately express my gratitude. Fazeela and Brett went to great lengths to accommodate Tango, even bringing him along for a hiking trip they had planned prior to my booking request. Fazeela is extremely thorough and knowledgeable, and I felt very at-ease knowing that Tango was in the company of folks who really truly cared for animals in all aspects. Tango has a couple of quirks, but Fazeela & Brett treated him as one of their own. Between handmade treats and outdoor activities, knowing Tango was having a great time made my vacation better -- and it felt good to know he was making friends, playing, and snuggling with Tesla and Tiberius!

Penny had a great time with her new human and canine friends! She was obviously loved and well taken care of. Thanks!
Thanks for taking such good care of Bullseye, and for helping me out on such short notice. I will definitely be in touch when next I need a dog sitter.
Fazeela and Brett were great hosts for Loki. They were very accommodating with the meet & greet, and with drop-off and pick-up times. And it looks like Loki had a great time, between walks with Tesla and Tiberius, and plenty of homemade treats!
Fazeela and Brett were lovely hosts! Bitsy seemed really happy there, and they were super patient with her. Thanks guys!
Jerry had a wonderful time with Fazeela and Brett, I was lucky to find them as they made my vacation much less stressful knowing Jerry was being well taken care of. They provided me with lots of photos every day and were always quick to answer via text message keeping me up to date. Jerry was very comfortable with them and their pups and I would take him back anytime. Thanks again for taking good care of my boy :)

Fazeela, Brett, Tiberius and Tesla were awesome hosts to our under-a-year-old pup. Our goldendoodle, Queso, has a few anxiety issues that we are working on so leaving him while we are out of town can be stressful. Fazeela and Brett were so easy-going and sent us multiple pictures and videos everyday. We watched Queso happily play with their chow chows at the park and saw pictures of all the dogs passed out from exhaustion. Safe to say, he had his own dogcation :). Not only did they make Queso feel at home, but Tesla and Tiberius were great influences on our pup. We'd happily book them again!

Fazeela was AWESOME! Ozzy seemed to have had the time of his life. This was the first time I've used dogvacay and was really nervous about leaving my pup with strangers. Fazeela went out of her way on every level. I most definitely plan on using her services in the near future.
