About Lisa

We are currently no longer taking new dogs and rarely taking on old ones. We appreciate your loyalty but at this time, we have too much going on to do any form of boarding. Thank you.

Hello and thank you for viewing my profile! As someone who grew up with a dog and now a direct "parent" to my own, I know how stressful it can be when planning time away. You worry about them! Who can I trust to watch them? Will they be taken care of properly? Will they be kind and loving to my pup? As a parent to both a dog and 2 cats, I know exactly how you feel and I would do nothing but take the best care of your pup while you're away. I have been dog sitting through the site since April of 2013 but outside of the site through family and friends for many, many years. To me, dogs are family and deserve a proper vacation when they're in my home!

A few things you should know when considering me as your dogvacay sitter:

1. All dogs will be kenneled when myself or my boyfriend are not home. I do this not to be cruel to your pet (believe me I HATE kenneling) but for their safety. When I am home, I make sure your pet is constantly being supervised, even when they play. I wouldn't want the dogs to accidently hurt each other while playing or to ingest anything that could harm them - food or otherwise.

2. Your pet must be potty trained. I have had too many instances of dogs "marking" around my home to include carpet, walls, curtains, and furniture. Pet smells are VERY hard to get out which encourages future pups to "mark" there as well.

3. Your pet must be neutered or spayed. Unless you're a current client of mine, I will no longer be accepting unaltered animals, especially males. Male dogs are known to "mark" all over the home when they smell other dogs even if they are potty trained.

4. I will no longer be accepting more than 1 dog at a time (2 including Jack). I want to make sure your dog is receiving all of my attention. On a rare occassion I will take 2 but I will make sure that both dog parents are well aware that another pup will be staying.

5. Your dog must be tolerant of cats. I don't mind if they chase them playfully or follow them around. I will not watch a dog who is known to chase cats and try to attack them. We do have a room for the cats but if you're dog is staying with us for more than a day or two I can't keep them locked up in their room that whole time - they love to socialize!

6. Your pup must be up to date on all vaccinations and be using a flea/tick application.

During the summer months and holiday seasons (Thanksgiving, Christmas) I tend to book up fast! Please make sure you get on my calendar quickly! I do however take last minute requests if we do not have another pup staying.

One thing I want you to know and be sure of is, I LOVE dogs more than most people! My dog is my heart and soul and I would treat your dog exactly the way I would want Jack to be treated on his vacation. I make sure you are updated daily on their activities and send you pictures (maybe even a video or 2!) to ensure they are getting all the love and attention they deserve - most of all, they are having a blast on their doggy vacation!

Please feel free to ask me any additional questions I may have missed in my summary - or any concerns! I look forward to meeting you and your pup!

Lisa has always been wonderful with Cosette. Always so nurturing and loving. Cosette always comes home with the biggest smile on her face!
Lisa was very accommodating on our schedule. She made Eroz feel right at home. The picture messages she sent were reassuring to us that he was being taken care of. Thank you Lisa!
Lisa made Clyde feel so safe and welcome for his entire stay! I love the daily updates from her and we are definitely going to use her the next time we go out of town! Thank you so much, Lisa!!!
We had no issues leaving Archie with Lisa overnight. He got along fine with Jack, and we wouldn't hesitate using her again.
Lisa was really great with my dog. I have a large breed dog (a Swiss Mountain Dog), and Lisa has some yard area for dogs to play around in. Lisa sent pictures throughout the weekend and kept me posted on my dog's activities. She sent some really cute pictures of my dog playing with her dog, so I knew my dog was getting plenty of exercise. I think she even let my dog sleep on her bed! When we got my dog home, she was cooked from playing with Lisa's dog. We have boarded our dog with Lisa twice now and will definitely board with her again.
Lisa and Chris were as usual amazing! This was our first time having our pups stay overnight with her. We were nervous because they can be a handful, full of energy and excitement but Lisa said they did fine and she sent us updates throughout the day. The pups enjoyed their time (we know this because they've been napping ever since we got home) and we were worry free for our trip. She listened to our requests and directions and again, the pups were happy as were we. We love Lisa and she's always our number one choice. Of course we love Jack as well. Thanks again Lisa for a terrific job. We appreciate everything!
Lisa and Chris were amazing as usual! They love Leader and Anya like they are their own dogs. Of course Anya and Leader love them and Jack so it was a great day for them as usual. We love Lisa so much! They do a terrific job every time.
This was our first time using Dog Vacay and we had a great experience. Lisa was a fantastic host! She made us feel comfortable and kept us updated all weekend with pictures of Jasmine. And I think Jasmine made a new friend in Jack :) We'll definitely contact Lisa again the next time we need a pup sitter!
Lisa and Chris are fantastic! Lisa made us very comfortable in leaving our husky pup with her. She sent pictures and updates on the fun he was having with them. We weren't coming back into town until very late at night and Lisa was very willing to let us pick Koopa up on our way back home.

We will definitely use them again as pupsitters!
Lisa was a life saver for my husband and me! We were really nervous about trying the DogVacay site and even more nervous when potential dog-sitters were telling us they were already booked. We just needed a day sitter while we took a day trip and from the very beginning she was super excited to watch our two puppies. We were even more nervous because we weren't sure how our puppies would act with other dogs or other people for that matter. Also their young age was another worry because they aren't fully trained and they can be a handful with their crazy energy. However, from the very beginning Lisa was super easy to get along with and she was so excited to have our two babies. We got pictures throughout the day and saw our puppies had bonded with her dog and another dog she was sitting and they looked like they were smiling in each photo! We saw them taking advantage of Lisa's yard running that crazy energy off. We were running late from returning our trip and Lisa was completely convenient and didn't mind one bit. She was having a blast with the pups herself! When we finally did come pick up our babies it took some persuading to get them to come but they were definitely happy puppies who had a fun filled day. We own two very energetic dogs who we have a hard time putting to bed, but once we came home, they went straight to bed. Lisa is great! We loved her and we are definitely looking forward to making her our sitter for the rest of our time in Virginia. More importantly though, Leader and Anya loved her and Jack and seeing the smiles on their faces throughout the day whether they were playing or being love bugs was enough to convince us that we didn't have to worry for future reservations. Thank you so much Lisa for your services. Our dogs had a blast and I'm sure they are looking forward to seeing you again!
Lisa was wonderful with Cosette. Incredibly caring and sweet with her. She's normally a bit anxious, but was full of smiles and hugs when we picked her up. Really appreciated how Lisa stays in touch with you throughout the week and sends pictures so you know your pup is being well taken care of. Absolutely loved having her watch Cosette!
Lisa is the best! Her daily updates via text with pictures were the best & really relieved my mind. My Madison is an older dog & I was concerned about the stress of leaving her with "strangers". When I got an update about belly-rubs and knew I'd done the right thing requesting Lisa and her bf Chris!
She was amazing! Great home for dogs and loving, caring people! She sent me pictures and messages daily to let me know my dogs were doing well. Will definitely be using her again!
KC had a wonderful time. Lisa sent pictures to let us know how she was doing!! Will definitely use her again!!
