I’ve always felt drawn to animals, even as a toddler, and I’m grateful they have always been in my life one way or another. I grew up surrounded by dogs, cats, parrots, bunnies and I’m 200% comfortable around all types of animals, including yours! Most of my happiest memories of a child include being around dogs and I have continued to be involved in their care in professional as well as volunteer-based ways. I consistently donate my time to rescues by fostering them, setting up adoption events and volunteering at shelters. I’m also the kind of person who will stop to say hello to a dog walking past me in the street. I adopted my own five-year old rescue, Pippin, who LOVES other pups and is happy to keep them company with me when boarding a dog in our home. I’m an active individual…exercise is very important to me—both for myself and Pippin, and I am a great match for high-energy dogs. At a bare minimum (unless otherwise specified by the owner), I make sure we walk for at least an hour and if your pup needs more exercise, I am more than capable of exercising for multiple hours! I go above and beyond with communication by sending regular photo, video and text updates in real time so you know your pup is healthy, happy and secure when in my care. I also make sure I understand your pup’s usual schedule and then do my best to stick to their regular feeding times, activity times (and level) and play their favorite games. Does your pup like hiking? Great, because I do too! In short, I get to know my clients’ dogs’ favorite things to do and then make sure our time together is a healthy mix of the activities they enjoy. It can be difficult for a pup to trust a new person right off the bat so I take the time to earn their trust through belly rubs, ear scratches, cuddles and healthy treats. I have over two decades of experience caring for all types of breeds, temperaments and sizes, and I do whatever it takes to understand their quirks and then tailor my care to their specific needs. I work as a freelance copywriter but besides that my schedule is wide open for pet care during the evenings and on weekends.
