About Margot

50 Years Experience Caring For Dogs
I have owned dogs most of my life and enjoy having them around. My husband and I are both retired and one or the other would be on hand whenever we had a dog in the house. We presently have two very friendly beagles who always enjoy having another dog in the house.

We have a two story house with the main living area on the second floor so there are stairs involved. If stairs are a problem it is possible for a guest dog to stay on the first floor where they would have company and easy access to the outdoors.
There is a doggy door on the first floor exiting to a fully fenced yard. Any guest dog that is not used to using one would be taken out as needed as well as walked.

I would prefer that borders supply their own food unless they have no problem with the dog food that we have on hand. I would also require strict instructions on feeding and treats. Owners should supply any items that would make the their pet feel at home. (beds, crates, toys, blankets etc.) Dogs would observe the same rules as at their home. There will be an extra charge for dogs under three months of age as they require more attention and care.

I think that dogs would enjoy being with us. They would get lots of attention and love and feel like their are at home. I have frequently kept friends' dogs and found it an enjoyable experience. They always seem happy when they arrive at the house!

We are five minutes from the bridge to South Padre Island and happy to board dogs that belong to owners that are vacationing on the Island.

Margot was great! I booked her to walk my dog while I was out fishing. She was reliable and made sure my dog was able to get out during the day and go for a walk. Will be using her again next time I'm fishing in SPI.
Margo was fantastic, our dogs loved going to see her and had no problems staying overnight at her house. we also were comfortable with knowing if we wanted to let them stay she was will and inviting. Wish these two could talk. thank you for Margo.
Margot was great, a huge help when we were there for our wedding. We would definitely book with Margot again.
This is the first time we have used Dog VaCay and it won't be the last. We have a very needy dog, Milo, who loves attention and has seizures which are controlled with medication. Margot put our mind at rest and Milo really seemed to love staying with Margot and her family and her own two little beagles. Her home provided a stress-free environment for Milo and even though we took her out every day for a beach walk, I think she was happy to go back to Margot's to relax. We will definitely have Milo stay at Margot's again if we get the chance to go down to SPI again. Thanks Margot!

Margot and her family were the perfect hosts for our puppy. She got so much love and attention and I really appreciated all the updates while we were gone. Margot's is definitely our puppy's home away from home.
Margot is awesome. My dog usually has anxiety about boarding but she loves to stay with Margot!
This home has been the most wonderful experience for my baby Snickers. Margot has sent pics every day and made me feel really comfortable about leaving my baby with her.
Booking with Margot was a great experience. She is highly responsive and you can count on her to consistently send updates on your babies throughout their stay with her. I felt that she provided a safe, welcoming place for our two dogs to stay and she was a pleasure to work with. She also seemed to truly enjoy looking after them. I am very pleased that we found Margot for our recent trip and will book with her again without a second thought.

Margo's place is easy to locate (just inland from the causeway) and provided a safe and comfortable environment for our two small dogs (Shih Tzu and Yorkie) while we "played" at Schlitterbahn. Her two resident beagles were puzzled, apparently, by our dogs' lack of interaction - but we learned the "visitors" just relaxed with Margo's husband and watched a movie! (they were likely very tired from their week at the beach)
Good communication and easy to arrange - thumbs up to Margo

Margot and her family are definitely a great choice for you if you like to get daily updates, with photos included, about your pet. She makes you feel at ease when leaving your pet with a stranger. Our puppy husky, Bella, was in great hands and every picture update we received your can tell Bella was comfortable and relaxed. Backyard had plenty of room for her to play and explore. I can honestly say we will be using her services again when the time comes. Thank you again Margot for opening your home to Bella.

Margot was wonderful! At the last minute I needed someone to take care of my little dog while I was in South Padre. I reached out to Margot and she responded so quickly and let DISCO (my dog) stay with her. She took great care of Disco. My dog was happy and loved staying with her. I would highly recommend Margot to take care of your dog. You will have a stress free vacation.

Margot was absolutely fantastic and a great help on short notice! I'd highly recommend her as a sitter!
This was not only my first time using Dogvacay but also my first time leaving my pet with a sitter. I cannot say enough of how pleased I was by Margot. She is very easygoing and responsive. When I couldn't honor the drop off time (due to work) she was very understanding and flexible with the time change at last minute. She sent me pictures over the course of the weekend of my pup which I very much appreciated. She has two lovely dogs of her own which made me feel better that my pup would have some four legged companions. I definitely recommend Margot and would use her services again!

This is the second time we book with Margot and I was very happy to see that Maya got so excited to see her again. Margot sent several pictures throughout the day helping me feel relieved that my puppy was having a great time. I will definitely book with Margot again if we ever need a sitter. I highly recommend it as it is evident that she is a dog lover who treats them like they are part of the family. I was worried that Maya was not going to want to come home with me!

Margot took good care of Prancer. We got pictures every day. Margot was flexible with drop off and pick up times.
Absolutely hands down best experience ever! I was vacationing in Padre when a family emergency forced us to leave for a few days. Our Boston Terrier was treated like a prince & came home happy!!!! Last time I boarded him (years ago) I almost needed a doggy psychiatrist....

Margot was a great hostess. You can tell she loves dogs. Has two little ones of her own that are quite friendly, a nice back yard, and a doggie door. Great photos of my dogs enjoying themselves and making themselves at home. Dogs had a great play day and slept in the next morning! Will return!
