Playtime with Saint Petey and Freya

Pet care experience

Hi there! My name is Kate and I am the proud "mama" to an 9 year old "failed foster" named "Saint" Petey, a 4-year-old female GSF rescue named Freya and their 5 pet kitties. That said, I ask that all of Petey's potential friends who want to stay and play at our house first meet the kitties because although your pup may accept his or her kitties as "pack", other kitties may trigger a dog's prey drive. We have a large doggie door so pups (and cats) come and go as they please however, the fence is a standard 4ft chain link so if your pup is part gazelle, that may be a problem. If your dog is socialized off leash, we can take trips to dog parks and beaches. Big fan of Dog Bat DTSP as it's a vetted safe space for friendly dogs so proof of vax to include bordetella are necessary there. Otherwise, we'll just play at home and go for pack runs several times a day (in the summer time, I wait until the sun sets and pavement cools). As far as experience, I am a former military K-9 handler and have fostered for several rescue organizations off and on over the years (with a soft spot for GSDs and Pits :) I prefer to take in dogs that do not have aggression issues for liability reasons but will evaluate on a case by case basis. I also have extensive experience caring for elderly and sick dogs and cats so I can administer oral as well as injected medication (and am patient when dealing with incontinence). Currently, I am a full time student with a majority of my courses online so I'm home most of the day now so the Fur won't be lonely. Of course dogs are allowed on the furniture! But no table scraps. I will reinforce basic training and good behavior. Let me know if you have special commands that your dog understands. Any other questions, dont hesitate to ask!

Woofy loved her stay with Kate; she was treated like family. We will definitely board with Kate going forward.

Outstanding, Kate took good care of my "babies". Will definitely recommend her and I will use her again for taking care of my kids Scruffy and Sunny.

Kate was awesome! After meeting with Kate at the meet and greet I felt more than comfortable leaving my girl with her. I got many pictures of Nana every day when I was away. Nana has a bunch of environmental allergies and I forgot to pack Benadryl for her, and Kate even bought her some Benadryl to make sure my dog was as comfortable as possible. Will definitely book with Kate again!

Kate was wonderful, she kept me up to date on Bailey's stay with frequent videos.

Information Kate K. would like to know about your pet

Any quirks that your dog may have if he has toy aggression or food aggression, dogs will be fed separately as rule regardless, if he has leash aggression any sort of aggressive tendencies that I need to be made aware of. If they have any basic commands or food allergies. I need to test your dog at my home with my cats before we agree to daycare or boarding.

A typical day

Typical day is breakfast, meds if needed, trip to the dog park or morning run, another run at lunch time in the afternoon and another trip to the dog park or evening run before dinner. The artist fenced and there is a doggie door so they may wrestle indoors or outdoors under my supervision.
