Since I was about six years old, it was my responsibility to care for all of the animals we had throughout my childhood and adolescence. Our pets included: five house cats (at most), three dogs (at a time), a full fish tank, rabbits, rats, gerbils, hamsters, guinea pigs, a variety of snakes, monitor lizards, bearded dragons, geese, chickens, and briefly goats. I've raised Collies, a Boxer/ German Shephard mix, a Great Dane/ black lab mix, a corgi, and even a pomeranian. We always had a collie that was the "leader of the house/ sheep dog" and I was the one in charge of training them. I've never actually owned any exotic birds, just poultry. However, I do have experience caring for my Aunt's African Greys, Finches, Parakeets, and parrots. I moved to DC in February because my mother lives here and I'm pursuing an AA in Biotechnology. Unfortunately, I was only allowed to bring one dog and one cat and I really miss my other animals. Needless to say, I love all creatures great and small, but mammals are my favorites. All walks will be based around the specific needs of your canine companion. If you have a young, energetic pup that needs lots of exercise, I will do whatever it takes (playing fetch, taking him/her for a run/jog, and if your pup is friendly, surrounding it with other furry friends) to appropriately satiate your dog's appetite for fun and exploration. If your dog requires mild, leisurely strolls and/or needs medicine administered orally or anally, that is 100% okay and I'm up to the task. I would like to encourage owners to fill me in on any preferences your pup might have (favorite blankets, treats, parks, activities, etc.) and any suggestions about how to make your dog as happy and comfortable as possible on walks or at home.
