About Jane

10 Years Experience Caring For Dogs
**Piri's Place is for dogs who are 30 pounds and under. We offer 24 hour supervision to all guest dogs. Please take the time to read our entire profile before you inquire with us so that you can know more about our house rules and the types of dog we are able to care for at Piri's Place.**

Hello. My name is Jane. My husband, Yangkyu and I started Piri's Place with our cocker spaniel, Piri, in August 2014. Piri crossed the rainbow bridge in October 2016 at the age of 17. Our hearts will always belong to him and this will always be his place.

Our newest family member is Bartles. He is a 12 year old cocker spaniel adopted from OBG Cocker Spaniel Rescue in December 2016. He has Cushing's Disease, has some mobility issues, can't see well and doesn't hear at all, but he has taken the baton from Piri and has been the most friendly and welcoming host dog.

Welcome!

If you are looking to find a calm and relaxing place where your dog can rest, have fun and be showered with love, care and attention, this is the place you're looking for. We live in a two-story townhouse with a medium sized fenced in yard. I am home all day long so your dog will never be left alone.

Because Bartles is a senior dog, and we often cater towards senior guest dogs as well, we can only take in small to medium sized dogs (up to 30 pounds) who are not aggressive and overly energetic. All dogs who stay with us must be housebroken (including no marking habits please) and up to date with vaccinations. Please bring your vaccination records during a meet and greet {if you requested one} and at drop-off for overnight stays or daycare so that we have it on file throughout the duration of your pet's stay. Please also let us know if your dogs are on any kind of flea/tick prevention.

Some things about Piri's Place:
1. We don't wear shoes inside our home. We ask guests to take off their shoes during meet and greets (wearing shoes in our entryway is ok for drop offs and pick ups). We have clean house slippers you can use (during meet and greets). We have disposable shoe covers for people who wish not to take off their shoes.

2. There is no need to bring your own bowls, beds, wipes, poop bags, treats, blankets and toys (unless you want to) -- we provide all of that here to make your drop off and pick up easier. All you really need to bring is dog food, leash, collar, medications & supplements (if applicable) and vaccination records.

3. We are flexible with drop off and pick up times and only ask that they not happen during crazy hours. We usually start the day at 7 am and end the day at 10 pm. So we welcome drop off times as early as 8 am and pick up times as late as 8 pm. We understand that sometimes there are travel delays and traffic and you want to be reunited with your dog as soon as possible (we've been there & we can relate!) and so there can be exceptions every once in awhile (but please don't make it a habit), but we ask that you book with us accordingly (for example: if your arrival time is late, please book an extra night and pick up the following day).

*Please let us know beforehand what time you will be dropping off and picking up so that we can have other guest pups gated and any belongings packed and ready to go, and so that we may also plan our schedules accordingly.

4. All our guest dogs get filtered water and water bowls are washed every morning and refilled three times a day (or more if needed). Food bowls are washed after every meal.

5. Clients will receive a detailed update every evening along with pictures.

6. We take up to 2 dogs at a time although we may take in more (or less) on a case by case basis. We strive to have a calm and relaxing environment and try to create packs who will all be comfortable with each other.

7. All guest dogs are welcome on our bed, sofa and futon! We also wipe dog paws and pee and potty areas after they do their business.

8. We provide 24 hour supervision and company to guest dogs.

9. We're big on cleaning here! We want to ensure that all guest dogs have a clean place to stay. We do big sweeps {including washing dog toys, dog beds, blankets} before and after long stays and quick pick ups during stays as well. You will see that every month we will have at least 1-2 weeks where we are "unavailable" -- this is our time when we do big cleans and recharge for the next wave of guest dogs.

10. A little bit about us -- my husband Yangkyu is a computer nerd, I'm a beginner knitting nut, Bartles is a complete sweetheart who loves all things treats and Piri began the "Welcome Home Yangkyu" committee and liked to recruit guest dogs during their stays. Membership duties include happy wigglebutt dancing and face licks. Membership benefits include extra belly rubs, chin scratches and treats.

Thank you for your interest! We look forward to hearing from you!

Our pups had a great time at Jane's! They were well cared for and loved. We got updated daily with pictures and videos. I definitely recommend Jane!
Jane took great care of Toby while we were visiting the DC area! She sent me a detailed report of Toby's day in the evening and it helped reassure me that he was settling in fine. If we ever head back that way, I will definitely contact Jane to watch Toby again. :)

Thank you so much Jane! I was so excited to get your updates on Mochi and how he was doing. The pictures were so needed, just to see my furbaby having such a good time. It was Mochi's first time doing overnight anywhere so i was nervous, especially since he has Epilepsy and the possibility of him having a seizure with me being away was scary but you put me so at ease. He found his second home away from home :) Mochi is looking forward to many more visits...daycare and overnight!
