About Anita

48 Years Experience Caring For Dogs
We have been boarding dogs through DogVacay in Atlanta, GA since it's inception. We moved to AZ in June 2016 and are excited to continue our services in the Rio Verde/Scottsdale/Fountain Hills area.
We have 2 very friendly dogs ourselves. We have a fenced yard. The dogs have full range of our house and we'll take them outside often. Our dogs sleep in our bedroom, but the door is open so they can go wherever they want. We treat our boarders as our own. We're home a lot and never leave them for very long periods.

Please send me a message with any questions you might have. We'd love to invite you for a Meet & Greet.

Anita was great with our dog Soffi! Our dog can be anxious sometimes, but she was very relaxed and happy when I picked her up. We felt very comfortable leaving our beloved girl with Anita and Hans. Anita was interested in understanding Soffi's personality, and what kind of environment she was used to. We will be bringing Soffi back for another stay.
My Lab Molly had a great time! Anita was flexible with pick-ups and drop-offs and her dogs got along really well with Molly! It was almost like she didn't want to leave when I picked her up! Thanks for taking care of my girl while I was gone. Will def be using her again! Thank you!
Picasso loved Anita's house and her puppies. I felt very comfortable leaving him with her, and she has a spacious home and fenced-in yard. Her flexibility is second-to-none, and her love of dogs stands out. In fact, my dachshund wants a return vacay!
My two dogs, Scooter & Biscuit, had a wonderful stay at Anita's home. Anita kept me updated on their stay and my dogs loved her beautiful back yard. I highly recommend Anita for anyone's precious pups!
Anita is an awesome host, and my dog Pepper had the best Vacay at her house! I had no worries when I dropped her off, because I knew she was in good hands. I plan to make more reservations with Anita in the future!! :-)
Such a great experience – I think Bodie is depressed to be back home! Anita has a great setup for the dogs – an enclosed backyard where they have free reign and a sleeping area with plushy dog mats! She was very accommodating when I could only pick up my dog very late at night due to last-minute holiday traffic. She also agreed to keep him overnight in case it got too late - so that I could pick him up the next day if necessary. Would definitely use Anita's services again!
Upon arrival for Tapper's second stay, she was clearly relaxed and willing to move in. Good because this stay was quite long (11 days). Anita and Hans are welcoming, kind, calm and very capable even with multiple boarders. They were good about accommodating Tapper's needs as an older dog (arthritis, medication). We have complete peace of mind when our beloved pet is with them.
Anita and Hans (and their dogs) were great with our older dog. She seemed instantly at home with them. It was clear when we picked her up that she had enjoyed a good visit.
As my pal, Chip, got older he became uncomfortable at the boarding facility where we usually went - even though they treated him very well. When we met Anita and Hans (along with their extended four-legged 'family' members) through DogVacay, Chip was immediately welcomed as one of the pack. They provided him with the loving care and attention he was accustomed to in a home environment.
Anita and Hans are a beautiful and caring couple who are truly animal lovers - and we look forward to the next time we see them!
This is the second time Anita and Hans have kept our two dogs. Sam and Grace were excited to be back when we dropped them off. We were sent photos and updates while on our 7 night trip which is a nice touch. I highly recommend this nice couple to take great care of your dogs.

Monkey and Bella had a great time during their stay with Anita. She kept me updated throughout their stay and was especially sweet to my older dog, Monkey, who has developed a bit of an attitude as she's aged. I can't recommend Anita enough. I trust her completely with my girls.
Anita and Hans were very excellent hosts. They have a lovely home with a yard suited for dogs to play around and relax. We had a meet and greet with Anita and her two dogs (Dexter and Barclays) before we scheduled our reservation for Kip.

Kip and her dogs got along with each other and we could tell he was taken care of really well. We are very happy to have found Anita and will definitely recommend her boarding services.
Our two dogs (Sam and Grace) have always hated to be boarded in traditional pet boarding establishments. It has often put a limit where we could travel as we would only do road trips so our dogs could go with us.

We found out about DogVacay and decided to give it a try. We are so glad we did! Anita and her husband Hans were awesome with our dogs! Sam and Grace stayed with them for a whole week. Their house is set up perfectly to provide all the comforts of home for your dog. They had free reign of the house and the fenced backyard. They cuddled with Anita on the bed at nap time. And they enjoyed the company of Anita, Hans and their two sweet dogs. A million times better than the wire cages and noisy conditions of traditional boarding places.

We were emailed photos and updates every couple of days. This is a nice touch which helps eliminate any worries and lets you enjoy your time away.

I highly recommend Anita for your boarding needs.
This is the second time I left my Little Caesar with Anita and her Husband. I didn't have any worries and when I came back and got him, he was just as happy and healthy (but tired from all the playing) as I left him. I won't leave him with anyone else!
She was just wonderful. The house was clean, spacious and so welcoming! The best for sure!

I was one of the skeptical people who was not sure about leaving a member of my family, who was recently adopted, at someone's house who I did not know. Now my little Caesar, 10 pound, dachshund chihuahua mix, is a needy little guy who just wants to love.

The second I got to Anita's home, it was like he knew he was at his second home. Both Anita and her husband are wonderful people who clearly love dogs. Their home accommodates dogs well. I knew just by walking in, my little guy was going to be just fine. He wasn't even paying attention to me after I left which is not normal for his needy little self.

The best thing about them is while I was away on a family emergency, I was sent an update on how he was doing. They even sent me pictures to show my little man enjoying himself and even napping. I was put at ease.

When I picked him up, he was happy to see me but I think he didn't want to leave! When we got home, he slept like we spent the day at the dog park. He was exhausted, happy and healthy. This is a long review but you have to know they are the best to choose from. Their prices are reasonable and if you want your pooch in good hands, call the pied piper of Dogvacay!
We totally rely on Anita K. for Coco every time we use her services. Coco gets the best care with her while we are away. Thank you Anita!!!
I am a person that loves my two dogs like they are my children. I would not leave them with just anybody. I met Anita and knew instantly that she would love and take care of them as if they were her own, and she did just that. She is a delightful woman that has a true love for dogs. I knew instantly upon returning from vacation that the dogs felt at ease while in her care. I would recommend her to anyone! She does an excellent job and is trustworthy.
Anita is great. She is really friendly and kind. My two dogs were at her house for a week. She is superb! Her house is not too close to mine but she is so friendly that I will consider her on the future to take care of my dogs.
Monkey and Bella had a great time at Anita's house for doggy camp! I highly recommend her.
Our 3-year-old Weimaraner stayed with Anita and Hans for two nights. They are very professional and prepared hosts, who accommodated our dog on short notice. They have their own information forms for guests' owners to fill out, temporary ID tags with their contact information for dogs that stay with them, and a very clean home with a nice yard. Anita is easy to get in touch with and we received pictures of our dog during the stay. Overall, the experience was fine, but our dog was not very comfortable there after we left, as Anita explained when we picked him up that he marked in their home several times and barked a great deal, and the larger of the two resident dogs did not get along with ours. All of those things are uncharacteristic of our dog. He gets along well with other dogs, does not urinate indoors (even at other people's houses), and does not bark excessively. At the time, 2 other dogs were being hosted along with ours, bringing the total in the home to 5 (mostly larger) dogs, which seemed to be overwhelming for the hosts, and was probably too much for our dog. Our dog had never stayed with someone he did not already know, and does not like being confined, especially for more than a few minutes, and he ended up having to be confined, I think in the dining room, at some points during the stay. He is also used to getting more exercise than he did during his stay, as we normally take him on long walks or to the dog park. Upon arriving, we were told that the boarded dogs do not usually go on walks - they are let out in the backyard for exercise. I had assumed he would be walked daily, but I figured some yard exercise with other dogs would be fine for such a short stay. Unfortunately, the lack of walking and being unfamiliar with the home and other dogs probably contributed to his behavior there. Anita told us that they would not host our dog in the future, and may not host larger dogs going forward. This was our first time using DogVacay, and Anita was not able to do a meet & greet before the trip, but was gracious to accommodate us anyway. I think a meet & greet would have made it easier on our dog, but also might have revealed that it wasn't the best fit. I would highly recommend Anita and Hans as hosts for smaller dogs and dogs that do not require a great deal of exercise.
Our pup stayed with them for around 48 hours and came home happy and exhausted! She had the best time playing with their two dogs in their great backyard. They went above and beyond for her... taking her for walks and to the park to play with other dogs. I feel so comfortable leaving my pup with them and plan to do so in the future. Thank you!
Thank you so much to Anita and Hans for taking such good care of Olive while we were away. You made us feel so comfortable and we knew that she was in good hands. We will definitely leave her with you again next time we go away.
Anita and Hans were very gracious hosts.
They took my foster pup, Max, under their care last minute and treated him as their own.
Max got lots of play time with their dogs, went on long walks in the woods, and had all his other needs fully met.
Anita and Hans exceeded my expectations.
They are wonderful loving caretakers and very pleasant and genuinely nice people.
Your dog is in very good hands with Anita and Hans!
Anita and Hans were great! They welcomed Lola and Lacey as part of their family. With free roam of the house and the beautiful back yard, it was like being at home for the dogs. It was a wonderfully stress free vacation for all of us. We'll definitely be going back!! Thanks Anita and Hans for making Lola and Lacey so comfortable.
I am so glad I discovered the DogVacay website as I was analyzing the costs and features of different kennels. I was hesitant about putting Lucky in a caged boarding environment for the first time in her long 15 year life.

Anita and her husband Hans warmly welcomed Lucky and me into their beautiful home. We enjoyed meeting them and their two sweet dogs very much. I could tell immediately this was going to be a great experience for Lucky and me.

Anita sent me detailed updates when I asked how Lucky was adjusting to the new environment. I loved receiving the photos she sent me too.

Lucky and I were both happy and comfortable with Anita and Hans and I recommend them highly to host your dogs.
Older couple who really seems to enjoy having dogs around. They had no issue looking after my Pomeranian mix for a weekend and had a large yard for him to play in with other dogs.
