I have been a petsitter for nearly 10 years and was excited to be able to start boarding when I moved to Chicago in 2013. Unfortunately, I have moved and my new building does not allow pets. I am still looking forward to volunteering at PAWS Chicago and to petsitting – with the added benefit that more furry friends will be able to stay in the comfort of their own homes when their humans are away.
I love dogs (and cats and birds and… you name it!) of all sizes, breeds, and temperaments, so your pup and I will be fast friends. Your dog will get a walk outside morning, evening and night, with a midday walk if that is part of his/her regular routine (please note that midday walks on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays are only possible with some advanced notice and are often not possible for very last-minute situations unless you live close to the Loop).
Weekend vacays will include long walks to nearby parks, including any dog parks that you previously approve.
I work remotely on Mondays and Wednesdays, which means on weekends and those two weekdays, your pet can get 24/7 attention. On Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, the pup will be in the comfort of your own home while I am at work but can still get 2-4 walks a day, depending on his/her needs.
I'd love to talk about your petsitting needs and your pet's favorite activities!
Please ask about discount programs I offer for multiple pets and adopted rescues.
Pet sitting and pet boarding are different services on DogVacay. Pet sitting is when someone stays in your home to take care of your pet, while pet boarding is when your pet stays in someone else's home. Please choose the right service when requesting a reservation, and don't forget to indicate how many pets you have in the provided field and not just in the message space. This helps DogVacay keep track of what is happening and ensures all your pets are covered by the DogVacay insurance included with your payment. Thank you!
- Pictures of some of my canine clients. They get royal treatment with me, whether it means I sit on the floor with them or they get to push aside the doggie blanket that supposedly protected my couch when I was boarding. Of course, we do keep up any training requirements you have to make sure they keep learning!
- The profile photo is of me during a 36-hour PAWS Chicago adopt-a-thon. I volunteered for 15 hours straight that Friday, and then went back for volunteering on Saturday and Sunday. Over 150 dogs and cats found forever homes!
