About Stephanie

I have been a petsitter for nearly 10 years and was excited to be able to start boarding when I moved to Chicago in 2013. Unfortunately, I have moved and my new building does not allow pets. I am still looking forward to volunteering at PAWS Chicago and to petsitting – with the added benefit that more furry friends will be able to stay in the comfort of their own homes when their humans are away.

I love dogs (and cats and birds and… you name it!) of all sizes, breeds, and temperaments, so your pup and I will be fast friends. Your dog will get a walk outside morning, evening and night, with a midday walk if that is part of his/her regular routine (please note that midday walks on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays are only possible with some advanced notice and are often not possible for very last-minute situations unless you live close to the Loop).

Weekend vacays will include long walks to nearby parks, including any dog parks that you previously approve.

I work remotely on Mondays and Wednesdays, which means on weekends and those two weekdays, your pet can get 24/7 attention. On Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, the pup will be in the comfort of your own home while I am at work but can still get 2-4 walks a day, depending on his/her needs.

I'd love to talk about your petsitting needs and your pet's favorite activities!

Please ask about discount programs I offer for multiple pets and adopted rescues.

Pet sitting and pet boarding are different services on DogVacay. Pet sitting is when someone stays in your home to take care of your pet, while pet boarding is when your pet stays in someone else's home. Please choose the right service when requesting a reservation, and don't forget to indicate how many pets you have in the provided field and not just in the message space. This helps DogVacay keep track of what is happening and ensures all your pets are covered by the DogVacay insurance included with your payment. Thank you!

- Pictures of some of my canine clients. They get royal treatment with me, whether it means I sit on the floor with them or they get to push aside the doggie blanket that supposedly protected my couch when I was boarding. Of course, we do keep up any training requirements you have to make sure they keep learning!

- The profile photo is of me during a 36-hour PAWS Chicago adopt-a-thon. I volunteered for 15 hours straight that Friday, and then went back for volunteering on Saturday and Sunday. Over 150 dogs and cats found forever homes!

Stephanie always takes such great care of my kids!
Stephanie is always so great.
Stephanie was really sweet. I can be a bit needy with communication when I leave my cats but she sent me long updates every few days which was still nice. She took good care of my kitties :)
I have been leaving my dog with my ex (his original owner) when I leave town. I was looking for a new arrangement and found Dog Vacay. I found Stephanie and immediately liked her when I went for the meet and greet. Crede is my first dog and Stephanie has a lot of experience so I felt comfortable leaving him with her. She was very sweet and Crede seemed to like her right away. He's not always super friendly so I was encouraged. I also met her boyfriend who Crede loved, which is nice since he's not always so friendly to men. He was also nice enough to help us out when Stephanie and I ran into a scheduling issue. I got updates and pics daily and Crede, who can be pretty anxious, seemed to really like both Stephanie and David. He looked happy in all the pictures and it really eased my worries. Normally when I pick him up he's very excited to see me and anxious that I'm going to leave him again. He runs to the door and barks and yelps until I take him. After saying hello to me for awhile, he jumped back on the couch with David while we chatted about how it went so I KNOW he had a great time. I have a work trip coming up in a week and am hoping to schedule Stephanie again!
She was great! Very flexible in pick up/drop off, and was able to accommodate unexpected medication needs. Had a baby gate which was important for my dachshund with back problems (kept him away from the stairs!). Will be using her again!
Stephanie was great. She responded quickly to basically a last minute request, and never once was I worried about the safety of my dogs while in her care.
I am thankful to have found Stephanie, as I'm sure she will become a trusted resource for the care of my two beloved pooches moving forward. Thank you again!
Stephanie jumped in at the last minute to help me as my dog sitter had an emergency come up the day before I had to leave. She was accommodating and kind and the dogs seemed to love her.
