Pet care experience
Dogs have been my life for the past seven years. Providing direct care, managing a kennel, owning my own dog walking business, and most recently holding an administrative assistant position at a large full service kennel. I have been lucky enough to get to know hundreds of dogs within this time period. Each and every one of their different personalities and needs! My two dogs can attest to my care-taking skills: providing a consistent routine, understanding body language, incorporating consistent exercise and stimulation, as well as socialization in appropriate situations. And very importantly, knowing safety measures. Whether it is with my dogs or a family’s fur pet in my care. (entering their home, leashing them up properly, safely taking them outside their perimeter, and coming into contact with people and other dogs along the way) In addition to my experience I am flexible, trustworthy, reliable and friendly! Jess first cared for my dog at doggy daycare where I quickly learned how easily she is able to establish a close connection with dogs. She genuinely loves animals which is so important when trying to find a pet sitter. I had zero hesitations leaving a key for her. She is responsive, respectful and cares deeply about providing the best experience for your fur baby and for you! If you want your dog to be treated like a family member, she is your go-to person.
I rescued an 8 year old severely shy and emotionally damaged dog. I was very worried about leaving him with anyone as he was very scared of everyone and everything. Jessica was visiting a friend who lived in my apartment complex and Mosey and I met her while we were out for a walk. They bonded right away and I was thrilled when I found out that Jessica works with animals. I hired her immediately!! She was amazing with Mosey. The only reason we parted ways was because I moved. That was about 6 years ago and we have kept in touch since. I highly recommend her to care for your animals. She is very attentive and loving with all of the animals I have ever seen her with. She sent me updates and pictures while I was at work. Mosey was skittish but so was I about leaving him and Jess put me at ease. You will not be disappointed if you hire her and Your pets will be in great hands.
I met Jess at a day camp for dogs. After beginning to know her, I asked her to housesit for us while we were on vacation various times. She always did a wonderful job. Sometimes she would sit at our home, other times she would take Shadow to her home. We trust Jess in our home and with our Shadow. She always went above and beyond. Shadow was not only fed and taken out, she was also routinely walked, played with, and snuggled with. We always came home to a happy pup. I would recommend Jess without hesitation.

I don’t have any breed preferences. In the past seven years that I have worked with dogs I learned much about breeds but all dogs have their own personalities! I would absolutely like to know if your dog is slow to warm up. With any dog in any situation it’s best to have patience. But I understand there are some dogs that are nervous with new people. And in that case I would love to set up a meet and greet.
A typical day
Nature spots, walking trails, downtown sidewalks if they are comfortable, creeks, dog “beaches” are great places to visit. If you want me to visit your dog in the comfort of their own home we can definitely spend time together around their block or just in their own backyard playing Frisbee, fetch, etc. I love to give belly rubs and entertain your dog with their own toys if they enjoy it!
