About Michelle

10 Years Experience Caring For Dogs
Going away and need a dog sitter? Even if it's just for one night, you can relax and rest assured that your dog will be safe, happy, and well cared for in my loving, pet friendly home!

Specializing in "SMALL DOG" breeds.
I only host small sized dogs in my home. I myself, and my guest dog's owners are typically more comfortable with this arrangement. My main concern is always for the safety of all my tiny guests, my own small dogs and my children.

I love all animals, especially dogs. I've always had a nurturing personality and wanted to be a veterinarian when I was a little girl. I grew up with dogs, rabbits, guinea pigs, birds, fish, snakes and ferrets. As I got older I realized I loved children just as much as I loved dogs and became a special education preschool teacher. Although my career doesn't revolve around animals, I love to surround myself with them in my personal life. The doggy guests that are in my home will become part of my family for as long as they stay.

I have a large home sitting on a fenced in property where your dog can run and play. If you're not comfortable with your dog running freely in a large yard, I also have a smaller fenced in area right outside the back door where your dog can play securely.

Inside my house I use a baby gate to keep the dogs safely contained for when I'm not home. I do not put dogs in crates unless requested to do so by an owner. (I try to keep consistency for your dog, so if your pup is used to sleeping in a crate, please feel free to bring yours, I have the space for it.) The doggy area is a large tiled room with plenty of dog beds. It is cozy and safe and ensures that your dog is not left to roam the entire house unsupervised. There is no door, so your dog won't feel closed off from the rest of the house. The dogs are kept in this area when I'm out. When I'm home, your pup will be part of our household. Our guests will be able to run around and explore, play with my kids and cuddle with us on the couch. I live with my husband, Matt, who helps out a lot with the dogs and my two children who are extremely gentle with them. However, for everyone's safety, please let me know if your dog is not good with children.

I am a preschool teacher so I work Mon - Fri. I'm off on the weekends and during all of the school breaks and most of the summer which is usually when people go on vacation and dog sitters are most needed! I do not work long hours. During the weekdays I will be gone from 8:30 to 1:30. My dogs are used to me being away for a bit during the week and happily play and rest until I arrive home. If I'm watching your dog on the weekend, I will be home to play and supervise all day!
I would be happy to watch your dog during the work week, however, please be aware that DROP OFF/PICK UP times on weekdays must be between 7:30 and 8 AM or between 2:00 and 8:00 PM. Thank you for understanding.

I have 4 little dogs of my own who are all sweet and friendly with other dogs. They love making new friends and would love to have a new playmate for a few days! If your dog tends to be nervous around other dogs, I have enough space in my house that I can easily keep the dogs separated. I do my best to accomodate my guest pups!

*** My main concern is always for the safety of all dogs involved. I cannot accept aggressive dogs.*** Please let me know if your dog has the tendency to be aggressive with adults, children, or other dogs. If so, I will do my best to refer you to another host who's home may be more suitable for your dog. I can only watch dogs who are friendly towards other dogs and children.

It can be hard to leave your precious pup and put your trust in someone else. I get it, and I promise I will do my best to keep your dog feeling happy, safe and comfortable.

I also have experience administering medication as well as injections. My parent's dog has diabetes and I have experience injecting her with insulin shots.
**I charge an extra $5/night for dogs who require injections because of the extra attention they need.**

Please let me know if you have any questions or special requests. I would love to know how I can best accommodate you and your dog to make both of you as comfortable as possible.

Thank you for considering me for your doggy vacay!

Loving dogs, caring for dogs, and understanding a dog owners anxieties about leaving their fur babies in the care of someone else is something that comes naturally to Michelle. Leaving my dogs in Michelle's care gave me complete peace of mind. She had a beautiful home and yard that is ideal for accommodating her furry guests. I knew my pups were getting the same loving attention that they receive in my own home while with her and her wonderful family. Thanks, Michelle- I can't say enough good things!!!

Michelle was amazing, she sent photos and videos during our vacation of our dogs. She even cooked for them when they wouldn't eat. They had a blast and were well cared for and safe. Can't ask for more than that.
Michelle was fantastic! She sent my family daily pictures and videos showing how much fun Bruno was having and it set our minds at ease. We have boarded Bruno at a kennel twice before and he came back very lethargic and sad. He was himself the boarded Bruno at a kennel twice before and he came back very lethargic and sad. He was himself the second he saw us when we picked him up. We could not be happier!! We would love to have Michelle watch our puppy again!!
