20 Years Experience Caring For Dogs
**RESPONSE FOR THE NEGATIVES!! Since I cannot reply under feedback.. The last negative was from a guest that booked for back in October, then waits until the end of December to leave feedback??!! Just over two months later, but is so worried about others pets??? I guarantee it was left due to a non-refund...Owner was late to start with, I had a walking client to take care of I also made her aware of that also. So being on time was something of importance. Told her she could wait to talk to me, or my husband would be there to greet them....I had private guests I made her aware of that would be there!
One dog (aka so called lead dog) was mine and five private guests I have been watching way before vacay, four of the five were going home that day...She was well aware of that, I said there would be a short crossover time. My home is large enough if requested her pet could of been kept separate until those four went home. There was one guest dog that did have an injury self-incurred prior to sit, dog scratched it and aggravated it! It was not bleeding and I coned dog and owner was made aware..Again this owner never asked anything... Yard is safe, it is fully fenced in...With that said, we have no control over fence jumpers. I always ask if they may be a chance they may try it and do what I can to avoid it! I have a lead run that runs the whole length of the yard. I also leash as well in that situation...
When my husband supposedly said our dog keeps others in check, that was not meant as a bad thing. Our dog is K9 trained, if dogs grumble at each other or he thinks they are playing too rough he will stand in between them! When he stated if a dog gets out our dog would chase them down, it was just to mention that our dog is trained for that....That does not mean it happens all the time....My husband typically don't handle talking to the owners, he is social-phobic and dyslexic so things he says don't always come out the way he thinks they did and people take things wrong...
Owner never mentioned to me prior to stopping that dog had an ear infection!!! She was never told we had plenty of meds!! All my guests know when it comes to toys they are welcome to bring them, but sometimes they can become mutual toys. I have a kennel/cage free home environment. The man she talked to was my husband..I never have or will have 10+ dogs!!!.. Feeding time is NOT A FREE for all. Furbabies get seperated at feeding time. There were very little words exchanged, owner was greeted. Then they mentioned ear infection. Hubby said I handle meds and etc. Then they just stated they forgot the dogs meds and that they had to go get them then they never returned....No Phone Call....No Email....No text.... No nothing!! Owner was also given the chance for a meet and greet and opted out...I will suck up a earned negative, but this was not one of those. Owner had my number and could of called me on the spot with any concerns upon her arrival.
Maybe it is a good thing that she ASSUMED I had that many dogs, because that would mean plenty of owners trust me.... ; ) Again, please take into consideration the over 2 months it took for the review to even be written.....It is just a shame, but I will do what I do best continue the great care I provide for my furbaby guests...

Other Neg...I have a fully fenced in outdoor backyard with grass and dirt. Depending on weather things can get wet and muddy. If dogs get excessively dirty I will do my best to squeeze a bath in. If a pickup time is not provided it is hard to do so because I do not want to send pup home wet, especially in the colder weather. Dirty paws happen.... Pups play hard when here, because they always have furry friends to play with and plenty of outdoor time. So it is not unusual for pups to go home pooped out!! Pup ate great while here and even wanted more than given ; )

I have plenty of personal feedbacks I can share to provide if asked...

I have been caring for a variety of pets for 20 years! I have a wide variety of experience with many different pets and dog breeds. I have a big heart for animals and always will. Pets are not crated in my home unless they have to be due to medical, behavior or owner request. I have a large fenced in yard that is fully accessible throughout the day.

I work from home so I am home 99% of the day. I do have a little one but don't let that shy you away. I never leave my child alone around dogs, not even my own. Dogs will be dogs and kids will be kids...In the summer time I also have kiddie pools for the furbabies to enjoy when the temps are high.

I can do long term or short term stays and in most cases can do last minute reservations...Pets are allowed to be pets, so they have full access of the house and are allowed on furniture! Puppies and piddlers are not a problem that is what a mop and carpet cleaner are for....

I have a two story home, so in the case furbabies need to be separated I have plenty of room!

We felt confident leaving Tella with Cherie, we could tell she was a true pet lover who would care for our pet. Cherie has a great fenced in yard and we know Tella had a great time playing in the yard with the other dogs. We would recommend Cherie to others!

My first time leaving my dog and using this app. Cherie kept Bebo for a couple of nights and I was very pleased that every day I checked on him she would respond quickly. She also send me pictures of him, I will be leaving Bebo with Cherie in the future.

My husband and I have used DogVacay.com before and have always had a positive experience. We were going to drop off our 4mo old puppy for a night but upon arrival, left immediately (w/dog in hand) and found other arrangements. Our issues: (1) Cherie mentioned that there may be a couple other dogs staying - we felt it would be beneficial for our dog to get some socialization. What we weren't made aware of was that they had 10+ dogs - & those were just the ones we counted outside. The man that greeted us said that if the dogs got rough with each other, that his "lead dog" would keep them all in line.. We approached the backyard and naturally, all the dogs bounded to the gate - one had a large cut on the top of his head with blood coming down his face. (2) We mentioned our dog was coming off an ear infection and were told (& I quote) "we have plenty of other meds in the house we can use if meds get lost" (3) When we asked about the fence in the yard & if it was safe/secure - we were told that it should be.. but that if one of the dogs got out, they would send their "lead dog" to track down the missing dog (another direct quote). (4) We brought our puppy toys/food and were told that it was basically a "free for all" & no guarantee he would actually get the right food.
I do want to add that I am not one to leave negative reviews - I do, however, want to make sure future guests are fully aware of the circumstances. Had I known, we would've found alt accommodations.

Dog was black from mud head to toe and extremely exhausted. He's been boarded before but never became a new dog while gone. He's no longer interested in activity and super quiet. He won't eat like normal.
Cherie was AWESOME! I was visiting from out of town and needed a last minute sitter for my chunky baby. He is a pit mix, which can deter people from watching him. Cherie was more than happy to take him for a few days AND he had so much fun playing with other doggies and hanging out that he passed out the entire 6 hour ride home and slept peacefully through the night!

Cherie was so accommodating and great with communication. She had a full house, and my dogs were tuckered out when they got back home, it was great! She took photos and kept us up to date with their progress as well. If we end up needing a sitter again, I would certainly go back to her!
