About Jane

42 Years Experience Caring For Dogs
Despite what the listing says, we do respond within hours, especially since the DogVacay phone app is available. We have been a host for six years and in the beginning booking had to be done when you were at your computer, now with the phoe app, it is much easier. Both of us work from the house. We love dogs and will love yours as well. Mid-sized fenced yard, large house with hardwood floors. Dogs are welcome in all rooms. We have dogs and a bird (no cats). We have raised six children and many types of pets over the years, but dogs are our love. Over 42 years we have owned 14 dogs, large-medium-small, usually 2-3 at a time. They have all been healthy, loved and long-lived. Some were raised from puppies and some were rescues. All were part of the family. It is because of our love for dogs that we have chosen to be a host for DogVacay. We have taken their training and that, coupled with our extensive experience of loving and parenting dogs, creates a safe and loving environment for your dog, while you are away. We are background checked by a variety of organizations and governmental entities. We have chosen not to do it again. Our home is clean and safe and our yard secure. Your dog will be loved and supervised. Your "baby" will be our main focus, while you are away. We only take up to 4 dogs at a time, depending on the dog(s) and their personalities, so we can focus on the special needs of your dog(s). Please understand that this is not a kennel. We are inviting your dog(s) into our home to be part of our family for the length of your absence. Integrating dogs with other dogs takes care and knowledge. We need to know size, health, immunization and behavioral information about your dog(s) in order to make that decision. Please take the time to fill out information about your dog. We cannot make a decision about boarding your dog(s) without this data. Our questions are for the protection of your dog(s), our dogs, and other guest dogs. We are trying to make sure the visit is a positive experience for all involved. We look forward to caring for your dog, while you are away. We are happy to feed your dog a special diet, raw food or any oral medications. Please call on us to meet your dog-care needs. Your dog will have his/her own special vacation at our house. We require shot records, and health information. We do NOT take un-spayed or un-neutered dogs. Dogs must be trained and respond to normal commands. We take puppies once they are trained, elderly dogs as long as they can make it outside to do their business. We feed dogs to your exact specifications. However, we do not leave food out. Your dog must be used to eating when food is presented. Leaving food around for grazing, only works for only dogs and does not work in a group environment. Many dogs are on special diets and cannot be lured by foods which will make them ill. All photos are taken of fun happenings in and around the house. We cannot walk your dog and manage a camera and a leash at the same time. Please understand. We love dogs and will love yours. If you have any questions, Do not hesitate to call.

Wonderful place for your dog to spend vacation while you are away. It's obvious that they love our dog, and she loves them back! We are repeat customers. We enjoy the pictures and updates while we are away. So glad we found a home away from home for our girl!

Jane and Jon are fantastic hosts. From the get go of the reservation they were friendly, inviting and helpful. They took care of Lexa very well and made our vacation enjoyable. Thanks again Jane and Jon
While visiting my son in Pleasanton, I needed day care for my senior Golden Retriever. I found DogVacay on line and decided to use Jane. After several emails with her, I felt she would be a good fit for the day.

Her home is dog friendly and offers both indoor and outdoor settings for a visiting dog to investigate.

Because she has two dogs of her own, she wants to be certain that the visiting dog is friendly and not too rambunctious for her dogs - and I respected that.

I recommend Jane for dog care and would certainly use her again.

This was our first DogVacay experience and Jane and Jon were terrific. We have 2 pups, a two year old "puppy" with a lot of energy, and an 11 year old smaller dog with a few quirks. They assimilated into the household, which included two other pups, very well and our hosts kept them cool, hydrated and entertained for several days during a record heat wave, which allowed us to truly relax on our vacation. We appreciated the great care as well as the daily communication and photos too. We will definitely be returning guests soon! Thanks J&J!

Bandit had a wonderful vacation! Jane and Jon took good care of him and sent pictures during his stay. Bandit got along with the other dogs that were staying which was a relief as he gets nervous easily. Thank you Jane and Jon, we appreciate how you took care of Bandit!

Jane watched our dog over 4th of July weekend. Jane and her husband are very nice people and I knew our Harry was in good hands. We received daily photos and text to let us know how Harry was doing. Our dog was so happy in their home that when we arrived to pick him up, he was barking at us and didn't want to leave. Thank you JJ!

Jane was great, very professional. My pup was a happy camper to say the least.
My dog who is now 11 years old very much enjoys his stay with Jane and Jon. I feel they are very attentive to his needs and I can see they really love the dogs they take care of. Ringo is always happy and free of stress when I come pick him up. It gives me a lot of comfort to know my Ringo is well taken care of. Sally

Jane and her family treated my dog as one of their own. They took really good care of her and sent photos nearly everyday. I felt very comfortable leaving her and was able to enjoy my vacation without worry.
Jane took excellent care of Smaug while we were away! The regular pics and messages about our dog kept us happy and not worried while we were on our vacation.
Amazing place, amazing people! Thank you so much for taking care of our Charlie!
We have left our dogs with Jane on several occasions. She is very welcoming and we love the pictures and status updates she sends us while we are away!
Our dogs had a great time during spring break ! Thanks again

What a relief it was to find a safe, secure and loving home for Ninja to stay in while I was away! I cannot say enough good things about Jane and her husband, as well as their Scottie family. Ninja was thrilled to see me when I got back, but then went squirrel hunting in their fenced backyard, not in any hurry to go home. We will absolutely be back and I am so grateful!

As usual, our dogs are in good hands and always enjoy staying at Janes house !
Our dogs Hunter and Hope had a great time playing with their 3 dogs! We get daily update texts including pictures with some funny captions - Jane truly cares for our dogs as if they were her own so we highly recommend using her. We have had our dogs stay for a couple days and even up to 2.5 weeks and feel very comfortable with the attention they get and activities.

I have a 4 year old 45 pound labradoodle who gets anxious when left with pet-sitters for the first time.
Our dog Ollie was very well cared for by Jane and her husband when we used their petsitting services for a day recently. We got regular text updates and pics via phone, which was great. Jane has three friendly Scottish terriers as well who got along well with Ollie. I recommend Jane and would use her pet sitting/boarding services again.

Hunter has a great time at their house ! He has 3 other dogs to play with and gets lots of love, attention and exercise!
Gideon had a great time at Jane's over X-mas. Jane was even thoughtful enough to remind me to put a present in Gideon's things so that he wouldn't be left out on X-mas morning when the other dogs were "opening" presents!
I received pictures on multiple days, and not just staged shots. I got pictures of him opening X-mas gifts, sleeping with another dog and playing.

Jane is incredible. Sadie is so happy spending time with Jane and her family. Jane has cared for my 13.5 yr old labrador on 2 occasions and I can't say enough positive things about the care Sadie received and how enjoyable it is to talk with Jane.
Jane was amazing to work with and treated my Sadie like a queen. I get lots of photos and updates daily. She accommodates Sadie's supplements and medications. Sadie is in a home with other dogs to play with, and people who scratch her ears and play with her. Thank you Jane, you and your family are incredible.

We have boarded Sadie with Jane 2x and both events have been seamless.

Jane is my go to person to care for Bo when I go out of town and can't bring him with me. I know he will be well cared for. I get lots of photos and updates daily. I never worry about how he's doing when he stays with Jane. She accommodates his raw diet, and any added supplements, or special needs. I always pick up a happy, relaxed dog..... No PTSD like with kennel boarding. He's in a home with other dogs to play with, and people who really care about him. Thanks Jane.... you are awesome!!!

Jane's house was like a dog paradise! She treated snickers like one of her own and I would bring her back to Jane's house and a heartbeat!
My dog Roz is definitely high maintenance (she takes lots of meds, eats a custom diet) and high energy (typical of a border collie) and Jane was able to handle both traits in her with no problems. I got regular text messages with pictures of my girl playing and enjoying herself!

I will definitely use her again if needed....

Hunter and Dakota just love it at Jane's. They have so much fun playing with her dogs, they are always sad to leave. Jane and her family are great with them.
Jane and her family are wonderful caretakers for dogs. We are sure to call upon Jane again for our dog boarding needs.
Our lab and our westie had a great time with Jane's family and 3 scotties this weekend. They are home now missing all of the fun. They'll be back for more fun soon. Very good experience for them.
I knew after the meet and greet that Jane would take great care of Bo. She really made us feel welcome, answered my questions, and really listened to his history and needs. I was very comfortable leaving him with Jane, her family, and pups. She sent great photos and updates, which were very comforting knowing he was so relaxed there. When I picked him up, he was very happy to see me, but not in a hurry to leave.... That says a lot!!! Thanks!

Jane and her husband were great hosts for my Westie. She had a wonderful time with their Scotties while we were gone. I don't think she wanted to come home. I will definitely use their services again. Great people and dog lovers!
Jane was wonderful! She had never kept a dog as small as Murphy before and one of her doggies was a little more hyper than the others. Since Murphy was scared of the more active pup Jane worked out a way to keep them separate while Murphy stayed. She did everything to help Murphy feel safe and comfortable while he visited. We really appreciated the extra effort!
Thanks Jane! :D
