About Jennifer

50 Years Experience Caring For Dogs
Looking for a calm, relaxed environment for your "best friend?" That's the energy your pet will feel here. I will adhere to your rules, boundaries, and limitations to maintain your leadership, but more importantly, I WILL LOVE YOUR DOG(S) JUST AS YOU DO!

Here are the Top 10 Questions (asked and answered) that may help you decide to book your first Dog Vacay:

1. What is the first step?

Book the reservation online thru Dog Vacay. Their website is secure and should not pose any identity threats. Reserving your dates well in advance will insure that your puppy will be well cared for in your absence. Dog Vacay provides insurance for your pets while in my care – so every booking must be made online, through Dog Vacay.

2. What does it cost?

My fee is $20 per dog, per night. You will find that this is MUCH less costly than boarding your baby at a kennel, a veterinarian, or a daycare or extended-stay facility. PLUS, you can be assured that your pet will get individual attention, lots of play and exercise, and the same level of TLC you provide at home!

3. How does it work?

Dog Vacay will notify me as soon as you request a booking, and if my calendar is open, I will accept it.
Your credit card is charged and you are all set.

4. Will you have other dogs during my pet’s Dog Vacay?

Normally, I will mark my calendar "unavailable" once you book your dates; your “baby” will be my only guest during that period. Occasionally, a repeat customer might ask me to watch a dog I know very well at the same time another client is booked. If the “humans” are all amenable, and if both dogs are calm, stable, and friendly with other animals, I might accept that “double booking” as a courtesy. However, I would not do that without your knowledge and approval.

5. Can we meet you before reserving online?

Absolutely! You may bring your dog over to meet me before your trip. We can arrange a “meet-and-greet” at my home, or a park, or even at your home. It is not required – it is just an option. Many pets like to come over to “sniff out the house” before they arrive for their Dog Vacay! Just request this online, before or after you book the reservation.

6. Do you have a fenced yard?

No, I do not have a fenced yard, but I take my "guests" for two-three long walks a day (first thing in the morning -- before breakfast, and again before dinner in the evening.) We also take some short potty breaks in between and before bed, all based upon the needs and preferences of your dog. There is a large open field near my house, as well as a wonderful walking trail (about a mile long) that circles the neighborhood. All my dogs love to walk in both areas, always on a leash. They have a great time sniffing (bunnies, birds, squirrels, coyotes, fox, geese, turtles, and who knows what else!).

7. How will my dog spend the day?

I have a flexible work/volunteer schedule and I am at home as much as possible. EVERY dog is a lapdog at my house. Your baby will be able to cuddle up with me on the couch, on the floor, or anywhere he/she chooses. I will make sure your furry friend is comfy and safe whenever I go out. My kitchen can be "secured" with a baby-gate that allows my dogs to see out, but stay in. I also have one large crate. You are welcome to bring your own, or just bring the blankets, pillows, and paraphernalia to snuggle up inside it. Most dogs sleep with me, but I will do my best to keep "your routines" in place.

8. What should we bring?

I will send you a reminder list of all the things to bring, and information that I need while you are away. I will also send you a map and simple directions to my house.
I will need your email address -- I cannot attach documents to messages sent from the website.

9. What other information do you need?

You let me know what time you'd like to drop off your baby on the first day of the Dog Vacay. I am very flexible and will try my best to make it convenient for you. If you are flying, consider bringing your baby the evening before so that you have one less thing to worry about!
Establish the time you will pick up your pet on the last day of the Dog Vacay. I will have everything packed and ready to go when you arrive. Your dog will be so excited to see you!!

10. Can we ask anyone else about you and your services?

Sure!! There are lots of reviews online – all very positive and flattering. I am very grateful to my clients for recommending me to their friends. They know I love their babies, and pamper and spoil them just as their humans would do at home!

Take a moment to view the photo slideshow. All the dogs have been guests at my house. Book a DogVacay for YOUR furry friend, and he or she could be the next member of this esteemed "club!"

Note: At this time, I only offer sitting for DOGS; I don’t currently accept cats in my home, but I can arrange to check-in on your cat(s), at your house, to be sure they have food, fresh water, and treats. Ask for more information!

Jenifer is wonderful, and gives me great ease to leave our very loved family dog with her!! She is awesome!!
Jennifer is fantastic! Duke loves her & so do we. Duke had a great time playing with Cooper & Bailey. Jennifer does a great job of knowing which dogs can be put together. It was good for Duke to have playmates since he is an "only" child.
Jennifer treated my pups better than I treat them! One of my pups is one a strict regiment of meds and she was comfortable keeping to the routine. She sent daily updates and kept me in the loop for anything she felt I should know from their stay. We have already booked our next stay with her!
