I have been around dogs all my life. Some have been chosen but most have chosen me as strays or as rescues. I am the person who sees a dog on the run in bitter cold weather, coaxes them into my car and finds a way to warm him up and get him home. I am the one who honestly acknowledges that I get more from dogs than they ever get from me, even if I give a lot. My own dog of 18 1/2 years died over a year ago ago, and I am still learning how to do life without him. Taking care of other dogs helps me to stay connected to canine friends and slowly heal. The dog in the photos is one of those special house guests who I oversee from time to time who opens my heart, and brings wonderful canine spirit into my home!
I live in Plymouth, own my own home, have a nice yard and lots of walking paths in the my area. I do a lot of walking on my own so having a pet accompany me fits quite well. I am college educated, am sane and quite loyal to my families I work for. I am a big fan of the tv show "Lucky Dog"! I have handled all sorts of breeds but am most comfortable with a one-on-one situation and with small to medium dogs. I specialize in eldercare for dogs, and am comfortable with diabetic needs. I will consider overnight "guests" for boarding with an home interview first. I have upon occasion stayed at the home of a pet who needs extra care. It is my policy to only take in one dog at a time in my home. One-on-one contact is always the best!
I love canine companions sometimes more than people. They are very present, giving and loyal...who could ask for more. Feel free to contact me if you think I might be a good fit for your dog. I will provide strong references upon request. Thanks. Susan
