Pet care experience
Paula's Pet Care Services is back after a brief hiatus, looking to provided excellent and trusted pet care for you and your furry friend. Having spent the last 10 years in the D.C and Philadelphia area, specializing in local pet care, I extended my knowledge and experience while traveling Mexico the last 3 years, rescuing dogs and cats, providing education and finding homes for pets in need back here in the U.S and Canada. I have been an animal person for as long as I can remember, and I am dedicated to providing reliable and caring pet care services for you and your furry friend with a unique touch. I have years of experiences I have experience in all dog and cat breeds and ages as well as extensive experience with social or behavioral sensitivities for dogs or cats that need extra care. I'm able to travel all over the city and the surrounding suburbs to provide excellent pet care services that range from check-ins, walks, and overnight stays. I do trainings too! Please feel free to contact me with any questions or if you would like to customize my pet care services. I have two sweet pets that I've adopted and care for daily. My dog, Nena, is a 1 year old sheepdog mix with lots of energy, a great fit for my early morning routines as well as a great friend to all she meets. My cat, Bean, is a senior kitty with special needs that require me to always be on my game. I spend so much time and care for my own pets, allowing me to extend myself to yours too, knowing how connected they are to our hearts. I know how important pets are and how busy our lives can be, which is why i've dedicated my work to provide the upmost care to mine and yours. I am incredibly attuned to pets and their needs, which is why I take the time to get to know each pet, their owner, environment and all their unique quirks. I make sure to appropriately introduce myself, including an initial walk around their safe and familiar surroundings, gentle play time and some basic training to see how we match. I take extra care to note and follow all the house rules, for both human and pet to ensure everyone is happy and comfortable.

Paula was wonderful, kept us regularly updated with pictures and videos, and took great care of our two kitties. In addition to the feeding, litter, and cuddles that we asked for, she also had to unexpectedly do some extra cleaning after one cat got sick, and she also swept up around the litter and brought in our mail, going above and beyond what we could have hoped for! We will definitely use her again next time we travel!
Paula did a great job as always, will book her again.

This includes work or travel schedules, energy levels, training and adaptability comprehension, special needs and concerns so that I can help fill the gap and provide the best care possible.
A typical day
I love to encourage stimulation, play, training and proper social interactions with all the pets in my care. This includes introducing them to my own dog, whose incredibly trained and social. I believe most dogs need proper, controlled, environments to truly thrive which is why I am such a big advocate for introducing social skills to both pups and humans so that all can feel adaptable and comfortable in any environment. My goal is to help raise a confident, happy dog and adjust any behavior that discourages that, usually due to anxiety or trauma which is my speciality. This includes hikes, play time at home and parks, swimming lessons, off-leash training, fun memory and command strengthening games and more!
