About Tressa

7 Years Experience Caring For Dogs
Hi! My name is Tressa, I'm a KPA certified dog trainer and animal enthusiast! I've created a puppy playground on a beautiful farm in Santa Rosa, where your pooches can run, romp, and learn with my dogs. As a dog trainer, I believe that many behavioral issues stem from lack of exercise and stimulation, so break up your dogs' week by bringing them to see us! The beautiful farm setting provides lot's of interesting sights, sounds, and smells, and our safe and secured area will provide shade, lot's of fresh water (puppy cooling tub coming soon!), enrichment and entertainment.

Choosing a small, independent sitter with training experience means your dog gets one-on-one care and careful supervision. Having worked with many dogs, and gone through various certification programs, I am familiar with reading dog body language and taking measures to ensure your dog's utmost comfort during their stay with us, whether that means taking breaks from group play for relaxation, getting out for brief walks around the farm, or even just playing a favorite game like fetch or tug!

My dog Koa has struggled with separation anxiety since we adopted her a little over a year ago, and I actually took a long hiatus from dog sitting in order to focus on her. Much of my use of DogVacay in the past year or so has been to find good sitters to care for her while I was working as a dog trainer at a pet store. I am very familiar with the particular concerns that come from having a dog that struggles to settle in new settings, and am always open to working with families to create the most positive experience possible for your pet.

While visiting the farm, you may also come across Badger, the resident farm dog, who occasionally joins us for playtime, Keiko the pig, Draco the llama, and a number of ducks and chickens! In the future, we'll be adding a wading tub, relaxation tent and kennel for breaks, as well as two large areas for dogs of different activity levels. We currently have a double gate for our play area for extra security and to eliminate the need for on-leash introductions. Our gated entry way also serves as a quiet space for dogs that would like to rest or need a break.

For updates on improvements to the daycare area, and more information on my dog training methods, my pets, and my life, you can visit my website and blog at www.pathandpaw.com

Tressa has an inspired approach with dogs of all kinds in that she has devoted her entire career to become a licensed animal trainer and pet sitter, all while blogging to share ideas with others about her experiences. She has a beautiful space for them to visit, and you'll likely get some photo/video updates as she captures their play. Many behavior issues are solved with regular exercise and interaction which can be hard to maintain in our busy schedules. You can consider her not just as a pet sitter, but as regular play date for your pet's happiness!

Tressa is a wonderful pet sitter! She has taken care of our Yellow Lab, Ruby, on several different occasions. Many times were for the weekend, but Tressa also took care of Ruby while we went on a 10 day vacation. Each time we returned, Ruby had learned new tricks and was better trained than when we left. Our 3 year-old daughter was a little scared of our playful pup, but after Tressa worked with Ruby, the two of them became best buds. It's wonderful to be able to go away knowing that Ruby will be in capable, loving hands!

Tressa understands dogs like no one else I know. We've traveled together extensively, and dogs flock to her just as much as she flocks to them. Walking down the street with Tressa often means a local dog meet and greet. I wouldn't trust anyone more with my dog than her :)

Tressa is an experienced dog trainer and handler but what makes her a great animal sitter is that she is a animal lover. She will pay attention to what your animal needs and treat them with compassion and caring while you're away. She is patient and kind and always puts the well being of animals first. She is a genuine person whom I would trust with my beloved pets!

Fantastic! My dog, Minna, loved her!
As usual, Tressa was awesome with Max. She is caring and conscientious. I highly recommend her for your dog's needs.
Tressa was great with my senior dog and very self sufficient. She gave me just the right amount of updates while I was away. Highly recommend!
Tressa is definitely PAWESOME!!

You can tell that Tressa loves animals. She stayed in our home and watched our three large dogs. Tressa sent us pictures everyday, took our pups for special outings, and made sure they received lots of love and snuggles. She was honest about her schedule and left our home clean. We would recommend Tressa to anyone!

Tressa was great! I left Zeus with her for 10 days and she sent me updates, photos, videos, and kept me informed that all was well. He took to her and seemed to enjoy himself. We'll definitely be repeat customers and recommend her to all our friends! It was great to have someone take care of Zeus, but also be responsible to take care of our home as well.

On a moment's notice, Tressa came and met us to take on a last minute overnight care for my pit bull, Max.

Tressa is caring, conscientious, professional, flexible, and exudes a love and compassion for animals. Max, who is usually shy among strangers, became familiar with Tressa very quickly.

She is very good with stronger pets and is continuing her education of coming a trainer.

I highly recommend Tressa.

Tressa was definitely PAWSOME!! I can't say enough about how wonderful this young woman was with our dogs. She definitely has a natural affinity with animals, and my two dogs immediately took to her. She stayed in our home for a week and showered our dogs with love every moment of the day. She sent us almost daily photo updates of how much she was spoiling them -- taking them out for nature walks, grooming them, snuggling on the couch, and even baking them homemade dog biscuits! I can't guarantee that you will get homemade biscuits, but I can guarantee that you and your furry friends will be super happy if you hire Tressa. She will now be our "go-to" sitter for any future trips. Thanks Tressa!! Clarence & Laney miss you! :-)

Tressa has pet sat for me in my condo several times now and each experience has been wonderful, professional, and she has taken care of my you puppy so well. I will continue to book her as she has been so understanding of the changes that have occurred, whether it be a changing diet or some new guidelines-she has responded to each new thing with a truly refreshing professional can do easy going attitude. She saved me the other night when an appointment ran late and she was able to stay a couple extra hours. I was so grateful to have her there and not have to worry about my dog. When I returned home, my four week old puppy was tired in a good way and ready for bed. She's had no problem dealing with some puppy poop and pee which comes with the territory and has been very communicative about any questions or things that happened with my dog. I can't enough good things about her as a pet sitter. I only hope her schedule doesn't fill up as a result of this review:):)!!

Tressa was amazing. She responded to my request so quickly. Then she easily found my location which can be difficult to people. So I was impressed that she didn't have to call me and get directions for the Greet and Meet. Other people had flaked and it was nice to have a reliable girl. We went over my puppies food, schedule and what I was looking for and she was very attentive.

My puppy was only 10 weeks old and I had only had her for a week and a half so despite my anxiety In general, Tressa put me at ease.

The night she came to dog sit went effortlessly. I was so nervous to leave the little one and it was relieving that Tressa texted me when she arrived. Sent me a Photo update and a little video. Then she texted me when she left. I can't tell you how this communication put me at ease. I knew my puppy was in good hands.

I returned home to find a handwritten note from Tressa giving me an adorable "Pupdate" :) and my puppy was tired which was great because it was bedtime.

I know Tressa did a phenomenal job because my puppy slept all the way through the night for the first time!! It was heaven for mommy to get this uninterrupted sleep.

I would recommend her to anyone for sitting. I am grateful and excited to be working with her!
