Hi! My name is Tressa, I'm a KPA certified dog trainer and animal enthusiast! I've created a puppy playground on a beautiful farm in Santa Rosa, where your pooches can run, romp, and learn with my dogs. As a dog trainer, I believe that many behavioral issues stem from lack of exercise and stimulation, so break up your dogs' week by bringing them to see us! The beautiful farm setting provides lot's of interesting sights, sounds, and smells, and our safe and secured area will provide shade, lot's of fresh water (puppy cooling tub coming soon!), enrichment and entertainment.
Choosing a small, independent sitter with training experience means your dog gets one-on-one care and careful supervision. Having worked with many dogs, and gone through various certification programs, I am familiar with reading dog body language and taking measures to ensure your dog's utmost comfort during their stay with us, whether that means taking breaks from group play for relaxation, getting out for brief walks around the farm, or even just playing a favorite game like fetch or tug!
My dog Koa has struggled with separation anxiety since we adopted her a little over a year ago, and I actually took a long hiatus from dog sitting in order to focus on her. Much of my use of DogVacay in the past year or so has been to find good sitters to care for her while I was working as a dog trainer at a pet store. I am very familiar with the particular concerns that come from having a dog that struggles to settle in new settings, and am always open to working with families to create the most positive experience possible for your pet.
While visiting the farm, you may also come across Badger, the resident farm dog, who occasionally joins us for playtime, Keiko the pig, Draco the llama, and a number of ducks and chickens! In the future, we'll be adding a wading tub, relaxation tent and kennel for breaks, as well as two large areas for dogs of different activity levels. We currently have a double gate for our play area for extra security and to eliminate the need for on-leash introductions. Our gated entry way also serves as a quiet space for dogs that would like to rest or need a break.
For updates on improvements to the daycare area, and more information on my dog training methods, my pets, and my life, you can visit my website and blog at www.pathandpaw.com
Note: My normal hours are from 8am - 6pm, although I am flexible. Because my daycare area is outdoors and I am unable to host dogs in my home, for your dog's comfort I cannot accept late night pick ups during the darker, colder winter months.
