About Emily

30 Years Experience Caring For Dogs
****Proud mom of a US Army Soldier*************
I have been actively involved in dog rescue for the past 5 years and also have a home childcare business. It never occurred to me to offer pet sitting services until a friend suggested it to me. I am normally always home, I love animals, I'm very trustworthy and my home and backyard is perfect for dogs. Lots of room to roam and a safe fenced in yard. We are the animal rescuers of the neighborhood!
My Husband, Brian has been very supportive of my love of animals and always smiles when I bring home a foster puppy or tell him about a sad story of a dog in a shelter--"We gotta save them all!"
In response to a review I received recently that wasn't 5 stars, where my client was concerned about the number of dogs in my care--It was a holiday, and I did have more dogs than I normally do, but I have a large customer base, and I want to do my best to always accommodate my clients. I would never put myself or your pet in an unsafe environment. All dogs are approved and I screen everyone beforehand to learn of any potential aggressive behaviors. Also, we have beautiful paved paths (new) right beside my home. Since my dogs play in the back yard most of the day, we normally will only take evening walks. Depends also on the dog...
Please communicate with me the needs of your dog, prefers long walks vs. no walks, whether playtime in the yard is sufficient, and if lazy days are good, etc.
Because of the size of my property, we can accommodate more dogs. But that doesn't mean, I can take more dogs. There is a personal limit I have--but at my home we like to socialize and play, so don't be alarmed if you arrive at my house and see 5 or 6 dogs! If your dog is shy or not used to being around other dogs, my home may not be the right fit. We allow dogs to lay on the couches, sit with us in our family rooms, share our bed at night...we are dog people and we KNOW WHAT WE ARE DOING. This is my business and I take pride in my business and the ability to work from home. My dream someday is to move farther out and open my own kennel where I can have more animals in my care and lots of open space--Animal rescue is my passion and I really want to try my best to save them all. What is Doggy daycare all about??? I open my doors every morning at 545am to accommodate people who want their pets to experience lots of playtime with other dogs while their owners work. Sometimes dogs need more exercise and pet owners just don't have the time or energy to make sure their dog is getting proper exercise--at my home, your dog will play all day and be exhausted in time for pickup!!! I will also do my best to ensure your pets experience at my home is 100x better than if you were to board your pet at a boarding facility. No crating for hours a day, active play all day everyday! Walks and safe interaction with other dogs. Your dog will leave my home exhausted and happy--I promise!!
My promise to everyone that stays with me is that all dogs in my care are fully vaccinated and healthy. It is best that when you bring over your pet they do not show any signs of illness that could be passed to other dogs in my care--Common courtesy!! We don't want to spread any sickness to the other dogs. I use bleach (diluted) on the deck and also use the services of a local yard cleaning service.
If at anytime you have any questions or want to do a meet and greet, just ask and we can set up a time to get together.
I truly encourage you to let me care for your fur babies, it's what i do, it's what I LOVE.

Emily is wonderful. Our dogs always have a great time at her house!
Emily was great with both my laid back lab and my high energy Great Dane puppy. She loved them just like they were her own. I will definitely be booking with Emily the next time I go out of town.
Emily took such great care of my 4 month old poodle puppy while we were on vacation. Luna got along great with the other dogs and enjoyed playing in the back yard. I'll definitely book with Emily again!
I was nervous at first, but Emily and her husband completely won me over. There was a bunch of dogs there for the holiday but all were happy and playing. I know my dog was in great hands, very safe, and enjoyed himself. I wouldn't hesitate to go back next time!!!
Emily did a fantastic job. I would highly recommend her.
I rate Emily 3.5 (the rating system doesn't allow 1/2 stars)
Emily is an Above average and responsible sitter. I had just a couple of concerns, which may be personal preference? but which I hope will be helpful feedback
This was our first experience with Emily, who watched our 2 year old lab over a holiday. We needed a sitter last-minute, and Emily's prior reviews combined with her responsiveness made me feel at ease leaving our dog with her

Emily has a large home and large yard, so there is plenty of room for play and rest
Emily sent pictures and messages frequently, which was great. She answered our messages very promptly too
Our dog received good care while at Emily's

My concerns were the number of dogs Emily took in over the holiday (8?) and the lack of long walks.
My dog is shy, and seemed overwhelmed, so a home with that many dogs is probably not the best fit for him. Other dogs might be just fine in that setting.
Also, walks are provided but they are short in duration and distance. Again, maybe a personal preference. Other dogs might be just as happy to play in the yard but our dog likes his walks
The thing about Emily is you know she's a dog person immediately. This was really important to us. We knew between the dogs in day care and the dogs boarded, our Ginny was going to be active and taken care of. She came back home tired. Exactly what we were hoping for.
My Angie’s very first “vacay” was with Emily and her family. Even though Angie loves going to doggie daycare for a few hours, I was still anxious about leaving my new family member for an entire day while I went off to a conference in Maryland! A meet and greet with Emily helped me relax. It was great to see her interact with Angie, and to see Angie begin exploring Emily’s lovely home. I could also see how Angie reacted to the dogs who were there at the time. I actually began to look forward to Angie’s time with Emily—I was sure we’d both be enjoying ourselves on Saturday!

Emily updated me throughout the “vacay” with notes and pictures of Angie and her playmates. She was very sensitive to Angie’s little personality quirks, which I appreciated. When I arrived to take her home, I think Angie would have been content to spend the rest of the evening with Emily! I have already booked another day with Emily in October, and will recommend her to others when I have the opportunity.
My dog Buddy loved staying at Emily's house. He enjoyed her fence yard and being able to stay at someone's house rather than a kennel. I could tell
that it was a positive experience for him, and that he received lots of attention.
I will use her services again, and will recommend her to my friends without hesitation.
Emily was a fantastic hostess. My dog received such good care and had fun. I'd highly recommend her - thank you, Emily!
Emily was great. It was our first time leaving our puppy with a sitter and she took good care of him. We could tell that he enjoyed his stay and was treated with love, which we appreciated. He definitely missed us but if you have to leave your pet somewhere it's so much easier knowing they are in a caring home environment rather than being packed like a sardine in an unfriendly kennel environment with little interaction. We recommend Emily.
I highly recommend Emily. She took good care of our dog, was very flexible with drop-off and pick-up schedules, and was very responsive to text messages and emails.

Emily has a clean, family home with large fenced back yard.

We had no worries about our dog's time away from home with Emily.

We picked up our dog after three days and she was happy, content, healthy, and tired.
I know my dog can be a lot to handle- she is a feisty puppy! Emily and her husband were great with her! She got to play a lot and had a lot of attention. It made going away for a week a lot less stressful!
Emily took care of my two Italian Greyhound dogs Devin and Leo for one week. While my two doggies can be a little nervous around others, I could tell that they felt at ease with Emily. Emily was very flexible and accommodating to my last minute booking and varied drop off / pick-up times. I recommend making a reservation with Emily!
Emily is an awesome dogvacay provider. My two labs love going there. I have an older lab who gets special treatment. I have a challenging lab who thrives on attention, and Emily is very patient with him. The older lab meanders around the URS while the younger lab swims in the pool. Emily has my strongest possible recommendation!
Emily was great! She was extremely flexible with the drop off/pick up times and was very considerate to our pup that is very shy. She kept me updated the entire weekend with messages and photos and our two dogs were absolutely exhausted when they came home! Emily is very professional and has the perfect backyard for the dogs to play and run. When we picked up our dogs, we could tell that they were very fond of Emily which means so much to us. I felt very comfortable leaving our dogs in her hands! I would absolutely recommend Emily to anyone looking for a sitter and will definitely use her again in the future.
Emily provided a wonderful home away from home for our three pooches. We were out of town for a week and didn't worry at all about our babies thanks to the wonderful communication we had with Emily which included daily texts and videos/photos of our dogs. Emily's house has a huge fenced in backyard where our dogs romped happily all day long. When they came inside, they were welcomed and snuggled as members of the family. My golden-doodle was so happy with Emily that she didn't want to leave. I had to coax her out of the house!! We would absolutely use Emily again. Our dogs came home happy, healthy and clean (Emily gave them a bath!!).
