Sorry, not taking new clients this summer as we are already quite full and have a busy summer ourselves.
Doggie walks, daytime pet sitting and overnight stay-cations with a stay at home mom, my family, and resident Corgle (Corgi-Beagle mix), Rick. Large single-family home in gated-community on a cul-de-sac with limited traffic and endless sidewalks for long walks. Active hosts who love to walk and jog. Nearby fenced dog park and community walking paths throughout residential small town of Parkland. Outdoor lanai with views of the lake and plenty of shade for doggie naps and fresh air.
Although our yard is not fenced, we make it a priority to exercise our own dog daily.....but perhaps in different ways than non-Florida families. After having lived through many torturous Florida springs, summers and falls when heat and humidity is in the 90s, we have found that the heat is too much for most dogs and choose to stay out of the hot sun for most of the day. Of course, a nice long walk in the early morning, an even longer evening walk, and a twilight visit to the dog park (interspersed with shorter 5-10 minute potty breaks through the heat of the day) is usually sufficient to make sure that your dog will sleep comfortably come nighttime.
Our two story home has cool tile on the bottom level, perfect for those hot summer days. A lanai, off our bedroom, provides a cool, breezy and shady spot to soak up the view of the lake. Our naughty dog sleeps on the couch or in bed with us and my girls fight over a "turn", so if your dog enjoys cuddling with giggly girls, he might accidentally sleep on a bed while he visits!
We have been hesitant to board our dog in a cage after having rescued him from the pound two years ago. We are a family of dog lovers and find our dog to be better stimulated and more engaged with a playmate. Rather than adopt a second dog, we will love yours just like our own! We will be sure to send you photos and text updates of his adventures too.
At this time we are only accepting small to medium dogs because our dog Rick is afraid of big dogs:). Also, we cannot board puppies, my dog is just too laid back and won't tolerate them. Because the health of your dog, my dog and my family is my utmost concern.....
1. I require proof of current/non-expired rabies vaccination by way of a current rabies tag on the dog's collar or the rabies certificate (you can see Rick's certificate expires in 2017 in my photos). Sorry, but I can't check your dog in without proof of rabies vaccination.
2. I have had trouble over the last few years with furry overnight guests bringing fleas into our home. Don't worry, they are gone now but as a result, I require that flea protection be applied upon "check in" so please be prepared with an application of Frontline or similar medication packed in your dog's luggage. Without the medication, I cannot check your dog in. I ask that you please check your dog for fleas, flea dirt on his skin and bedding, etc. before bringing him to our home.
3. We love dogs but hate that doggy smell, remember our $35 rate includes a free bath upon check in and if they are here for a week, I'll have them bathed and smelling great at pick up too.
$35 for a 24 hour stay! When making a reservation request, please give me an idea of the time frame, i.e.
Friday night around 8 pm until Sunday morning at 10 am so that I can provide an accurate quote.
"Meet and greets" are a quick and easy way to know that you have a dog sitter who will meet your doggie's needs. Because dogs are just like people.....some get along and some don't, it's a great idea to meet my family and my dog, Rick, first. In five to ten minutes, you will have a better idea of what to expect and your worries will be calmed. You will know me and I'll know your dog better. No travel plans booked yet? That's okay, call me and lets get together for a meet and greet ahead of your travel plans, that way we will all be prepared when a last minute trip comes up.
Lastly, feeling guilty about leaving your dog alone all day while you are at work? Consider a doggy play date at my house instead! We welcome your dog during your work hours too. Or would you rather me stop by your house around noon and just let him/her out for a short potty break? We can do that too. I've seen lots of services in the area that charge $15/walk. A short potty break costs much less so don't let your budget keep you from keeping your dog comfy during your hours at the office. Send a message with your needs and we will customize a price to fit your budget.
Thanks for considering us!
