Dear Seattle friends and pup-parents,
We've really enjoyed caring for so many sweet dogs over the past three years - as well as helping you to rest assured on your trips away. Unfortunately we are no longer hosting pups in Seattle as I have taken a new job in LA, where Brent and I have recently moved. Thank you for entrusting us to care for your furry family members.
All the best,
Kelly & Brent
We are a pet-free and child-free house where your dog will enjoy our big windows for squirrel watching, a fenced-in patio for sprawling in the sun, and the loving attention of a dog-adoring couple, Brent and Kelly.
(Note: I love cats and offer cat sitting as well as dog sitting! I'm happy to stay at your house or visit your kitty while you're away.)
We are located in a residential area on the edge of Capitol Hill and near several great parks. We have taken dogs on walks through nearby Interlaken, Volunteer Park, the Arboretum, and the trails behind and along Madrona Beach. Each visit of under eight hours will include at least one 30 minute walk, anything beyond that will include an hour walk or two 30 minute walks, all in addition to regular pee and poo breaks.
I, Kelly, would be the primary caregiver. I am a Ph.D. student and part-time instructor at UW. Therefore, I have the luxury of a very flexible and open schedule to care for your dog and in most cases can offer 24/7 supervision. I work at home most days and may spend a few hours at nearby dog-friendly cafes - Katy's and Tougo. For nearly two years Brent and I have helped to take care of his brother's adorable corgi-mix. The dog was living with us, but recently moved out, so we
thought dogvacay would be a great way to offer our time and home to other pooches.
Please note that we only watch one dog at a time and can no longer host multiples, even if they are from the same home. (Although we can consider house/pet sitting in your home). We are also restricted from hosting large dogs. We have a lot of experience with and especially welcome dogs
that would not do well in kennels or homes with other animals or children. We keep doggie doo bags, organic treats, and plenty of dog toys on hand.
Should there be an emergency, we are only a few blocks from the Madison Street Animal Hospital, as well as Urban Animal veterinary clinic (both open on weekends). We are also registered with Pet-Hub and will outfit your pup with one of its dog tags during its stay. These feature a QR code, website, and free 24/7 phone line where good samaritans can receive up-to-date directions on who to contact should your pup escape from our care. (Which, thankfully, has never happened!).
Please feel free to contact us with any questions. Thanks for looking!
