Why send your pets to a boarding facility when they can be part of a family in your absence? Make their vacation just as fun & relaxing as yours!
You will find that I truly love caring for my guests and really enjoy giving them a home away from home while you and your family are away.
Although I do this out of my home, I am a fully licensed commercial dog kennel through the State of Iowa. I have 11 years professional experience which includes doggie day care/ obedience training work, administering medications, light first aid, bathing, and dog foster care. Our home is typically calm, quiet, and smoke free. We have a fenced backyard (6' privacy fence). We have a dog run leading from under our deck out to a separate fenced area that provides shade and also to help us keep the main area of our yard clean. Our front and back gates are locked from the inside, keeping your baby safe.
Your dog will enjoy our home as a member of our own family. His (or her) days would include lots of love and snuggles, belly rubs, games of fetch and laser chasing. Our guests are treated to cool, breezy naps on the screened porch during spring and fall, A/C in the summer, or resting beside the fire when they need to warm frosty little noses. I am sure to maintain the diet you provide, and exclude anything that you are uncomfortable with (i.e. snacks, treats, and/ or "cookies"). I make sure that your pet stays well hydrated via many well placed bowls of fresh water ready to be slurped up at a moments notice. You will be able to take home a very happy pet that has burned off lots of energy, leaving you and your family to enjoy your evening or return home.
I am happy to accept all breeds (once I can observe your pet's good temperament at a meet and greet appointment) so long as your pet is compatible with all other pets and young children. All dogs MUST be comfortable around and able get along well with other dogs. They must not have any aggression issues regarding toys, food, or other items.
I do not take puppies or dogs that bark excessively. Any dogs that are not neutered or spayed will need to be separated from other dogs during their stay per the regulations on my animal welfare license. For this reason, I prefer to host only dogs that are spayed & neutered.
If kenneling is something that your dog is used to for sleeping, taking a break from play time, or when you are away from home; please bring his or her kennel along so that they can maintain the routines they are used to at home. I ask that your dog's belongings are kept only to what is necessary for their stay. Extra toys can get lost, chewed up by other dogs, or accidently sent home with the wrong dog. I prefer to avoid this when possible.
When I have guests, I continue my routine as usual. So, while I do spend most of my time at home, with your pet. I am gone for short periods of time to take care of necessities. This means that dogs that get along well may be left alone together when I am not at home. I never leave dogs alone before I get to know that they play nicely together and have no aggression issues towards each other what so ever. When this is the case, all dogs are free to comfortably roam my home. Should any of the dogs in my care require separation from the group while I am out, I am sure to see that everybody is safe and comfy either in their own provided kennel or safely divided by a gate that spans my kitchen.
I do not accept small puppies that are less than two years old, dogs that are not 100% house trained, dogs that use potty pads for elimination, or dogs with any kind of incontinence. This includes dogs that are afraid to do their business when the weather is not cooperating.
I understand accidents due to being introduced into a new environment with lots of excitement. However, should I experience excessive accidents/ marking that require carpet cleaning etc. you will receive a custom quote for a minimum of $50 that will be higher should your pet's stay exceed 7 days. This will need to be accepted before you pick your dog up.
