We've played host to dozens of foster dogs from Chihuahuas to English Mastiffs and pretty much everything in between. We love dogs and are able to provide your pet with a safe, caring, dependable home away from home. We can't currently foster rescue dogs because the multi-month commitment required doesn't work well with Karin's current work travel schedule, but our dog Hobbes and we miss having furry friends around. We will only take dogs when both of us are home in DC in order to ensure your dog gets the maximum attention and care.
- Three guaranteed walks a day. Karin works a few blocks from home and comes home for lunch and noon dog walks.
- We will treat your dog as our own. Cuddles and playtime!
- Pickup and drop off services.
- Doggie siblings half price and discounts for long term (7+ days) stays. We don't want expensive dog care to hold you back from enjoying a vacation or going to a family event. We've been there and know how quickly pet costs can add up. We're committed to offering reasonable rates along with great service.
About our dog:
Hobbes is a calm 6-year-old pit bull mixed breed. He was our very first foster dog but we fell in love with him and had to keep him forever. He's obedience-trained, friendly and great with dogs large and small. He was even selected to appear on Fox and Friends to advertise DogVacay because of his great temperament!
About our home:
We live in a dog friendly, 24-hour doorman, elevator building downtown. Dogs allowed on beds and couches for cuddles and naps. :)
Karin works for the government (like everyone in DC) and comes from a pet-loving family. She planned to be a veterinarian until an unfortunate cat allergy got in the way of that dream. Brian is a hockey-playing elementary school teacher who grew up with multiple golden retrievers. We are recent transplants from NYC to DC and are looking forward to using long dog walks to explore our new city!
