I have been in the pet care profession full time since 1993. I owned my own highly successful grooming and boarding facility in suburban Nashville Tennessee until just recently. Additionally my husband and I spent over 4 years as a local rescue, taking dogs from area shelters updating their medical needs and giving them the social skills needed to be adopted into "furever" homes. We saved over 400 dogs during that time. I have experience working with everything from puppies to senior pets and can administer oral and injectable medications.
As for our home, we have a very large home of with an attached in-law apartment of 1200 S.F. This gives us the option of either having pets stay within our own pack, or to completely separate visiting dogs from the pack while still being right there with my care and supervision. It all depends on what the owner would like and what is most prudent in each situation. Our home is on two acres and is fenced with a six foot privacy fence and gates that can be opened from only inside the yard. Our deck is also completely fenced with privacy fence, this gives us the ability to zone off dogs if necessary.
I am retired so I am home 90% of the time and when I do leave to run errands your pet would be separated from our own dogs in the in-law apartment for peace of mind. I have always treated every visiting pet like it were my own. Feel free to bring any of your pet's bedding etc.
