We only want one dog at a time to start out with. We have looked after 3 small dogs as the same time but they were all from the same family. If you have more than one dog in your family, and they get along well: NO PROBLEM! A reasonable number would be welcome. We have a relatively rural setting that is completely enclosed and allows lots of freedom and fun for your dog.
For the first time in 25 years we are without our own dog. As empty nesters, who work from home, we would be happy to care for your dog while you are away overnight or even daily depending on our need to travel. Dog walking or hikes are good for your dog and for us; we love to hike and allow them off-leash when possible! Because we travel a bit, we can't commit to having another family dog right now. However, we miss having one or two around! Note: (for some reason dogs and children love Nigel. He even plays fetch (repetitively retrieving a ball from under the TV stand)!
We have a completely fenced grass yard in front; the fence is 4'with slats (great if your dog is not a jumper or too small). The back yard is patio, pool, "garden" and some wood chips, and is completely fenced with 6' solid fencing. There is a 4 1/2' gate at the rear of the property. Dogs often like just sitting underneath Nigel's desk while he is at work in his office.
Would love to meet you,
Nigel and Nancy
