Old Town Bed and Biscuit
Pet care experience
Hi! Bring your dog to my home, Old Town Bed and Biscuit, where he/she will be treated like one of the family! Please note that I generally only take in one guest dog at a time, except during holidays when there may be 2-3 guests whose parents are vacationing. Dogs 20 lbs and under only please. Finally, your dog must be housebroken (i.e., only potties outside, no pee pads) and up-to-date with his/her vaccinations. You will receive regular updates from me as well photos of your precious pup. Please take a look through my gallery here for some of my best efforts. Your dog will be closely supervised. There are no cages or crates and dogs have the run of portions of my home, as well as a fully fenced-in yard, weather permitting. If you like your dog sleeping in a crate at night, you are welcome to bring it along. He/she will have a ball staying at my cozy home, going for long walks and having my own playful poodle mix as a companion. There are plenty of toys and chews on hand at all times, plus I have installed a puppy pull from the second floor landing, which is a great form of entertainment. My dog has had it for two years and hasn't tired of it yet. I am responsible, trustworthy, loving and adore dogs. I also have experience in administering medication if required. Pickup and delivery service available. The last thing you need is worry about your dog's happiness and safety during your vacation. So let’s talk to discuss dates and needs and set up a meet and greet. About this sitter: I am home full time and able to give your dog a lot of personal attention and care. I believe in using only positive techniques to the care of your dog. My mission is to provide outstanding care, service and safety for your pet.
Reviews
Karen took such great care of my pup. She does her homework in making sure she finds out what your dog is or is not allowed to have, what their routine is, etc. My dog can be a bit anxious at first when I leave, but Karen was great at distracting her and settling her back down to being her normal, goofy self. 10/10 would recommend!
Murphy had a great time and was very happy after his week away, lots of walks and attention from Karen and Oliver in a great neighborhood!
Karen was wonderful and did a superb job with my dog Sammy! Sammy is an older dog and sometimes needs some TLC (finicky eater, takes a while to warm up, etc.). Karen was sensitive to her needs and made her comfortable - plus I received pics/updates everyday. Thanks, Karen!
Karen was a wonderful caretaker for Lola. She sent pictures and regular updates, and we were very pleased with everything!

Meet my pets I have a wonderfully friendly poodle mix named Oliver, who I rescued from the Animal Welfare League. He would love to play with your dog or just hang out.

Information Karen R. would like to know about your pet
It's always a good idea to meet a dog before committing to pet-sitting services. You and I can talk about your pet's needs and you can inspect the premises and learn about how I will care for your pet. Specifically, I would need to know your pet’s daily schedule; temperament; health issues/vet contact; food and diet preferences/restrictions; activity level/exercise needs; command familiarity; and behavioral quirks (cats, skateboards, bicycles, kids and horses--yes, carriage horses periodically walk past my house and through the neighborhood).
A typical day
Here's where we'll take our walks Old Town is a beautifully quaint area, full of tree-lined streets and little parks. Lincoln Park is a few blocks away, and I love to go along the lakefront, through the park, and around the zoo. My afternoon walk typically goes for about an hour. I also like to drive my dog to Wiggly Field at least once a week for lots of exercise and socialization. Your dog's sleeping arrangement That's pretty much up to your dog. At night, your dog has the run of the living room, where I have both a dog bed and dog cushion, plus throw rugs, as well as the dining room, where the water bowl is left out, and kitchen areas. If you prefer to bring his/her bed or crate, that would be fine. Time I'll spend with your dog I work from home. There are plenty of toys and chews on hand at all times, plus I have installed a puppy pull from the second floor landing, which is a great form of entertainment. My dog has had it for two years and hasn't tired of it yet.

Why I love dog sitting I've been a dog lover all my life and grew up with a Doberman/Shepherd mix, who acted like a 60-lb lap dog. Right now, I'm the happy owner of rescued poodle mix who is a joy and the friendliest little guy you can imagine.
