PLEASE READ BEFORE MESSAGING ME:
We are usually home 24/7, occasionally we have to eat so that means we go to the grocery store, and we also have to drop the kiddo off at school and pickup, so minus the short trips out for school and errands, we are home.
About me, and us!
We are a fun relaxed family that provides a stable and loving environment for all of our furbabies. We have 4 wonderful dogs who live as a part of a family with us and are not just a "dog". I have extensive knowledge with all breeds of dog (large and small), birds and parrots, reptiles and caged furry friends, and my passion growing up was raising, training and showing our horses for over 15 years.
Our dogs have access through a doggie door during the day and sleep comfortably in our room at night. If it's too hot for walks, we play indoors or outside in the sprinklers. For ball obsessed dogs, we do hide balls during the heat, as they can never seem to get enough even when it's 110 outside.
****We will NEVER lock your dog outside in the Arizona heat, I am fully aware of heat dangers and overheating when playing especially with the shorter nosed breeds (pugs, boxers, pekingese etc). If your dog is not dog door trained I will go outside with them and make sure they come back inside with me. During summer, I do however lock them inside the house and let them out quite a few times for potty breaks. Puppies sometimes don't understand that 110 is still fun to play in! Our home inside is set to 74 degrees during the summer.
If you have a senior pet that needs a quite place to hang out for a few days, you found the place! I generally don't schedule or book any other pets with high activity levels during their stay so they don't get stressed out - I will book multiple dogs with the same activity level to keep the house balanced.
If you have a puppy that is up to date on vaccines we welcome them with open arms and can help with potty training during their stay. We understand that puppies often need midnight potty breaks and that is okay with us.
We do not kennel a dog unless that is part of your routine at home and they are kennel trained. Kennel training a dog is a very useful tool for both doggie owners and those who watch dogs too. Especially puppies!
**Please have vaccines up to date, including kennel cough. Kennel cough is actually just a doggie cold which is very treatable, but it's also very contagious. All of my own personal dogs are up to date on vaccines.
**I can administer any/all meds including injections (diabetes).
**For the safety of our other furbabies and family members, we can not care for dogs who have aggressive behaviors.
**All client dogs are fed separately from our dogs, I monitor and stand watch during feeding time as well. When feeding time is over, all bowls are picked up and put away so no one feels the need to protect or guard their food bowls.
**If your dogs needs to chew on bones, or have treats, they are given separately. Treats, dog food, bones and toys are the number one reasons dogs will fight. We will only give treats or bones or chewing time separately from other dogs. Example; Puppies NEED to chew, so they will get owner provided rawhides or chew bones alone in a kennel or gated off in a room.
**If you have a dog that marks territory INSIDE the home, we can't watch them. This is usually a male small breed issue. This causes other dogs to mark inside as well, or you will need to bring their belly band.
**Have a rabbit, gerbil, guinea pig? Bring them too! We have 2 client rabbits that come with their dog siblings, we love playing with the little critters too. We also have 1 resident guinea pig named Pigpen.
What will you need to bring during their stay:
- Kennel (if they have one)
- Their own dog food bowl only, no water bowls
- Their food - and any add on's they get (wet food, hamburger meat, meatballs, cottage cheese, cheerios, lunch meat)
- For puppies, please bring chew toys for separate chewing time
- Medicine, if needed
What to leave at home: Bones, treats, toys! We have all of this already, and I usually just give carrot pieces during treat times.
Will try to send daily photo updates via text messaging and/or e-mail.
