I am a pre-vet biology major at the University of Lethbridge. My end goal is veterinary care or veterinary research. I have been around dogs my whole life (and a host of other animals) I am familiar with many breeds, temperaments and behaviors and I'm comfortable with the quirks that come with pets. I love to surround myself with animals and I think this would be a great way for me to learn even more about animals to further advance my knowledge in regards to all breeds.
My younger children have been raised with animals and have been raised to treat animals well. They do not push, tug, or disturb animals. They are familiar with how to properly greet a dog and when to leave an animal alone. My youngest loves dogs with all her heart and will spend all day giving belly rubs if I'd let her!
We are an active family and daily walks, dog park visits and play time are easily involved in our day to day living. We frequent both south and north dog parks but I do not take young dogs there or dogs who have not freqented those parks before with their owners.
Dogs are supervised outside at all time unless you have a large dog who prefers to be outside all day, in which case I can accommodate that. I am home most of the day except for approximately 2 hours. On weekends I am home all the time.
I am a volunteer at a vet clinic where I observe surgeries and procedures in order to gain even more knowledge. I volunteer at the animal shelter frequently and I provider free face painting for non-profit animal organizations to raise funds. Animals are truly my passion and anything I can do to help makes me very happy.
