FYI: To my current families and any new families looking for care: I'm now taking pups on again! I'll host up to 4 pups at a time. I think more than that right now would be too much, but I'll adjust that as time goes on. Please don't hesitate to reach out! Look forward to hearing from current families and NEW families!
I love animals, especially dogs! If the dog isn't around you 24/7, then he's not being part of the family. A dog is absolutely part of the family and probably the most loyal one at that. I love the concept of being able to leave your dog with someone that can give him/her constant attention while you're away. I know that when possible, my dogs go everywhere with me. There are times however, when that is not possible and leaving your best friend at a boarding place just doesn't feel right. Just in time with vacations coming up, you can book with me last minute and be rest assured you're leaving him/her in loving hands.
I have been a Dogvacay host now for 4 years. I have met really great pups and families along way! I've hosted many kinds of breeds and personalities, all of which have been fun and endearing. Our sweet big boy Rottie Rio passed away last year, but I have 2 floater dogs, 2 dachshunds Mia and Penny. They are my family's dogs and aren't always here at my house. My husband and I live in a single family home and have a large fenced in backyard with ample room for running and releasing energy. I also live across the road from the Manassas Park Dog Park.
I take the dogs on daily walks and have plenty of play time. If it's nice outside, we will be out all day. I don't require a crate provided the dog is a well behaved dog. Your dog will spend its time with us in our whole house. On the deck, backyard, family room and if he/she sleeps in your bedroom at night, we'll do the same.
If you feel comfortable and your dog likes car rides, I like to take my dogs on light hikes to Hemlock, in Cliffton area. I will be more than happy to send pictures, videos, emails, and texts of your furry while you are away.
I charge $40 for the daily/nightly rate and $30 for daycare. Please note must pickup before 9pm and drop off no later than 6pm. Dogs need some time to acclimate to their new surroundings before just going to bed. Of course arrangements can be if times are inconvenient, I am flexible with early notice. I can do other services like bathing before heading home if you'd like.
