I have been caring for pets my whole life and currently have one dog. I have experience with all different kinds of dogs, big and small, young and old, energetic and laid-back, friendly and aggressive. My current dog is human and dog reactive so I have a lot of experience handling and training a dog who struggles with these issues. As a child, my family bred dogs so I have experience with new-born puppies, administering shots and oral medications, and dealing with protective mother dogs. I worked briefly at a vet clinic while in college and from there gained experience working with dogs and cats who were sick or recovering from surgery. I have worked as a dog handler/kennel tech at two dog day care/boarding facilities where I monitored dogs in an open-play environment, watching behavior and interactions to ensure their safety. While working there I frequently walked up to four large dogs or up to six small dogs at a time. I also have experience with other animals, including horses, ferrets, and reptiles, and have volunteered at a wildlife center where I handle injured or sick birds. I do not discriminate dogs based on breed or temperament, and have dealt with many behavioral issues.
