Hi there! So glad you are interested in having me come watch your pet in the comfort of their own home. I am currently a fifth year student at UBC, studying applied animal biology and animal welfare.
I've grown up caring for my own cats, dogs, birds, rodents, and reptiles, and have been pet sitting for over a decade. My experience pet sitting includes dogs, cats, parrots and small birds, rodents and even snakes! Living in an animal rescue and foster home has provided me with knowledge of a variety of temperments and animals who would be considered as having " behaviour problems". This means I have worked with seniors with medical conditions, as well as pups and kittens, and everything in between.
I provide sitting services in your own home. We all know how stressful it can be for some animals to be brought into a novel environment, so working in your own home helps minimize this.
I have worked with animals post-op and those who are in need of medical attention. I am almost always able to work around your pet's needs, so if you think you have a unique pet who needs special attention, then I am your pick!
Walks and hikes, trips to the beach, or just a stroll around the neighborhood will be included in all stays. I work around what your pet needs!
My studies in animal welfare and behaviour have provided me with knowledge on the minds of our furry friends at a deeper level. Currently I am working on research trying to increase the level of compassionate handling techniques researchers use when handling rats and mice in the lab. I hope to transfer this passion for animals into all aspects of my life.
